It's Coffee Time, Wish You Were Here!

Hello, it's coffee time at my house ! !  Wish you could join me at my table, maybe you can just enjoy something while you visit my blog.  So glad you're here.
Weatherman says we're gonna see 70 degree temps
next week.  I am looking forward to that.
I really am a winter person, I love the cold, but
this has just been toooo cold for toooo many days!

I'm so anxious to get the yard and flowerbeds in shape.
They're looking pretty bad.  Hello Spring, I see ya coming ! !
Groceries just keep getting higher and higher.  grrrr.. And gasoline, wow....this does not make me happy...No increase in Social Security and yet cost of living is going up,up,up.

Oh well, no more complaining.  Life is good and I enjoy every day.  I have so much to be thankful for, my blessings are so much more than my negatives...God is faithful...

Have any of you seen the MugRugs that are being made?
So many wonderful seamstresses in blogland..
I am really going to get serious about sewing again.
Maybe I'll be showing my own MugRug someday soon !

What to cook for supper?  I hope I can find something quick and easy,  look out pantry, here I come.

I hope you've enjoyed your visit, I would really love to have all you "really" at my table for some great fellowship.

Roses are red,
Violets are blue,
Sugar is sweet,
And so are ALL of you.
awwwwww

But God shows and clearly proves His love
for us by the fact that while we were still sinners,
Christ died for us.

What Makes Me Tick?

I can vividly remember my Mother always saying, "I don't know what make him/her tick."  As a child I always thought.....is that "tick" as in "tick-tock?"  Or, could it be a "tick" on a dog?  Maybe it was just a "tik."  hmmm.....I just couldn't figure it out ! !
I also remember in first grade I had a dear friend, Old Maid. Oh yes, that's what I called her because that's what I thought her name was....oh so wrong....are you ready for this?  Her name was really Olla Mae !  Now that could have really been embarrassing but being only six years old it just wasn't that big a deal....now it's just plain funny..
How about the word "breakfast?"  It's a perfectly ordinary word, if you can pronounce it correctly.
No matter how hard I tried, all I could say was "breakafast."  Oh....my two older brothers loved it, they laughed and teased me something terrible.  We would be eating breakafast and they would say, "Mary, say "breakfast"...and then belly roll on the floor.  Needless to say I learned how to say it right ! ! hmph...I showed those guys....
Wow, what makes me "tick?"
Now I don't really think these silly little instances in my life have a thing to do with
"what makes me tick."
They are just a part of living,  I think we all have some
"silly little instances" in our life, it's just part of life's highway.
And true, those things to contribute to who we are....no doubt.

With all that being said, I can tell you I have it all figured out.
I know what makes me "tick."
It's my relationship with Jesus Christ,
for without Him I would cease to "tick."

He is the Light unto my path...
He is the Rock of my salvation...
He is the Victory of my life...
He is the Conqueror over my death...
He is the Hope of my days...
He is the Peace of my life..
He is the great I AM.
Amen.
Let Christ be the "ticker" of your life, it's a beautiful place to be.

The children of men take refuge and put their trust under the shadow of Your wings.
Psalm 36:7
...Hope to see you again real soon, thanks for dropping by...

I'm Just An Old Chunk of Coal

Years ago there was a song by John Anderson titled,
...I'm Just an Old Chunk of Coal...
The words are very, very country
but their meaning is very, very awesome.
I'm just an old chunk of coal,
That's exactly what we are, just a rock,
hard from the inside out.
But I'm gonna be a diamond some day.
When we accept Jesus into our lives, we begin to sparkle and shine.  No longer a rock, but a precious stone.

I'm gonna grow and glow 'til I'm so perfect,
That's what the Holy Spirit will do for you,
he helps us to grow in the spirit and glow in God's Love.
I'm gonna put a smile on every body's face.
Happiness in the Lord radiates from you,
and it's very contagious.

I'm gonna kneel and pray every day,
Conversation with God, the best talk you'll ever have.
Lest I should become vain along the way.
Time away from God will leave us dull and drab.

I'm just an old chunk of coal now Lord,
But I'm gonna be a diamond someday.
Thank you Lord for taking the hardness from our soul and replacing it with your light that will shine forever and ever.

Loved your visit today, come again, anytime.

The Rose, A Flower of God's Design

Several weeks ago there was an email going round about God' Rose...It was a beautiful little story and I forwarded it on to friends and family.

A dear blogger friend encouraged me to post it on my blog.  I thought it such a great idea, but it seems other things were coming up that I was posting, but this story and the encouragement of a friend has been in my heart all these days.  When something like this happens I refer to it as a God sighting....I believe it is the Holy Spirit saying..."get busy girl, this is going to touch someone."

To my new friend Rita, the Holy Spirit used you also to get this done.....Thank You !
You'll be blessed by visiting Rita here

As you read this simple story please think about the message it is giving...

The Rose, A Flower of God's Design

A new minister was walking with an older, more seasoned minister in the garden one day.  Feeling a bit insecure about what God had for him to do, he was asking the older preacher for some advice.

The older preacher walked up to a rosebud and handed it to the young preacher and told him to open it without tearing off any petals.

The young preacher looked in disbelief at the older preacher and was trying to figure out what a rosebud could possibly have to do with his wanting to know the will of God for his life and ministry.

But because of his great respect for the older preacher, he proceeded to try to unfold the rose, while keeping every petal intact.  It wasn't long before he realized how impossible this was to do.

Noticing the younger preacher's inability to unfold the rosebud without tearing it, the older preacher began to recite the following poem....

It is only a tiny rosebud,
A flower of God's design;
But I cannot unfold the petals
With these clumsy hands of mine.

The secret of unfolding flowers
Is not known to such as I.
God opens this flower so easily,
But in my hands they die.

If I cannot unfold a rosebud,
This flower of God's design,
Then how can I have the wisdom
To unfold this life of mine?

So I'll trust in God for leading
Each moment of my day.
I will look to God for guidance
In each step of the way.

The path that lies before me,
Only my Lord knows.
I'll trust God to unfold the moment,
Just as He unfolds the rose.

(This is my dream house.....sure is....)

Let go and let God unfold your life.
