What are your plans for
Mother's Day?
Whatever they are I hope they bring you
~happiness~
For some of you there's only memories of
Mother's Day
past.
You're blessed to have those memories.

Some of us are still have our Mom's
and can make another beautiful
Mother's Day
memory.
I have my mom and my children close.
For that I am grateful.

I don't know about you but I love
Wooden Spoons!
My wooden spoons are a trusty friend
and companion in the kitchen.
We have made many, many
good meals together.

Alas, we are both beginning to show our age.
My spoons have some nicks in them
and old stains that give them character.
Just good ol' wear and tear.
A lot like me.  (giggles)

Is it unsanitary to use a spoon
with nicks in the wood?
I've always periodically soaked
my spoons in a
mixture of water and bleach.
In recent years,
after washing them,
I rub them with hand sanitizer.

No matter how many new utensils
I buy, I always find myself reaching
for my dear wooden spoons.
They just make me a better cook!

This was my great grandmother's
rolling pin.  She passed away before
I was born.  I am so happy
to have this treasure.
I've been told she was a great cook.
This was the handle she held
as she rolled her pies
a hundred years ago.

My Mom was a great cook too!
This treasure lived in her kitchen
for many years.

Today I'm linking with Marty at

Table Top Tuesday

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ,
he is a new creation;
the old has gone,
the new has come!

Apples of Gold

"A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in pictures of silver."
Proverbs 25:11

Have you ever taken stock of the words you speak?
It is sad to say that most of us don't.
Our verse talks about words that are "fitly spoken".
Do we think about our words before we say them?
The word "tongue" is referred to over 100 times in the Bible

We wouldn't choose our clothes by
reaching around in the dark
and just gathering something to put on
and yet that is how we dress
our mouths sometimes.
We haplessly grab anything
to say and think it will do.
The word "words" is referred to over 500 times in the Bible.

How much better our entire lives would run
and how much better our relationships
with others around us would be
if we really were careful about
the words we chose to use every time
we opened our mouths.
The word "lips" is referred to over 100 time in the Bible.

"Set a watch, O LORD, before my mouth; keep the door of my lips."
Psalm 141:3
The word "mouth" is referred to over 400 times in the Bible.

It is safe to say that our mouths,
what words we say,
and how we say them is important to the Lord.

Today's post is from our
JOY
class lesson this morning.
It is from a study by
Joy Bettencourt.

Have a Blessed Lord's Day
