The Gate

Welcome to
Friday Focus
where each week I will be sharing something from
my home town.

It's not uncommon to find Mr D and I out driving around our home town.
We like to get out and see what's going on...
What's changed, What's new, What's gone...

The other day as we were driving down a road we've been down
many times I spotted this old gate.
It really fascinated me, I can tell it's been there a while, I've
never noticed it before.  AND I love it!

It opens into a small grassy area
surrounded by an overgrowth of  brush and brambles.....
All enclosed by this beautiful white fence.

Something had to have been there at one time,
why else would there be a gate?
I've traveled that road occasionally for 50 years,
for the life of me I can't remember anything ever being on that
plot of ground.
But still, the gate fascinates me.
Who put it there, where did it lead, who walked through it,
when was the last time it was opened???
Ahhh, the mystery of it all.
Have a great day.
In Him we have redemption through His blood,
the forgiveness of sins,
according to the riches of His grace.
Ephesians 1:7

PS...Dear Blogger, please correct the spacing issues, you're driving me crazy!

North Zulch

Welcome to North Zulch, Texas
A very small community northwest of Houston.

I really don't have much to say about this little town,
I'm sure the people who live there would have a lot to say!

I've been through there several times and don't remember much about it.
Just another little town on the map.
All states have them.

The local fire station.

Down by the tracks.

I love the charm of small towns,
sometimes they don't look like much,
but if we knew their  history we would probably find it very interesting.

I knew a girl from North Zulch once,
she moved to the city!

It's Crazy, but fun!

It is so much fun to rummage all over the house for 'stuff' to make a
vignette so I can take pictures!
Then rush to my computer in great anticipation of what those pictures will look like!
hmmm...will these do?   Maybe I need to go move some things around and take
more pictures!

It's crazy....but fun....
Most of the time I'm whistling or singing or sometimes I'm just talking to Jesus.

As I'm gathering things together I'm thinking, where will I set up today?
On the porch, by the fence, dining room, how about that table by the window?
Decisions, Decisions!

I get my display all done, step back and take a look.
Oh no, that isn't right, maybe if I move this over here....

Awww..I think this will do it.
Mr D, come see what you think.
Why did I do that?
He always says, "Baby, that looks just fine."
Bless his heart, he knows, happy wife, happy life..:-)

Blogging has stolen my heart.♥ ♥ ♥

Before I go today I have some wonderful news!
Our 6th great grandbaby was born early this morning.
Mother and daughter doing great, I'll have pictures and more
details later on...

Have a Wonderful Day.

Therefore I will look unto the Lord;
I will wait for the God of my salvation:
My God will hear me.

Guess I better go get all the "stuff" put back in it's normal place.

Autumn

This is such a wonderful time of year.

The change of the season brings a change of mood.
There's always a sense of togetherness during this time.

The coziness of cool evenings, hot chocolate, football games...

Anticipating two of the best holidays of the year.
They are getting close.

Friends and families coming together for fellowship,
sharing the blessings of the season.

I am eagerly looking forward to all that Autumn brings.

Have a great Day.

Now may the Lord of Peace himself give you peace at all times
and in every way.  The Lord be with all of you.

Monday? Already?

Monday? Already?  Wasn't it Monday just a couple of days ago?
Time is just flying by and I feel like I'm holding on for dear life.

I married at 17, had four children and a full time job,
my life has always been busy.  Come home from work
cook supper, homework with the kids, pick up the house, bedtime....
That was five days a week...
Saturday was spent cleaning house, doing laundry and buying groceries.
Sunday was family day.

And in between there was:

 Little League drill team
Little League football
Cub Scouts
Brownies
Gymnastics
Art Lessons
Jr. High Band
Jr. High Football
High School Drill Team
Mr D's Music
and
for a while
My Craft Booth at the local Craft Mall.

Whew.....I was busy, but I didn't let the time get away from me like I do now.
I couldn't let the time get away from me, I had a schedule and I had to stick to it OR
it was total chaos.

Those days were wonderful and gave me so many memories,
but it is nice to be at that point in life where I can slow down.
I just wish time would slow down with me.

Have a great Monday, Blue Monday that is.

I will say of the Lord,

my God, in whom I trust."

God's Grace

Stand before God in His name, not yours.

The cross was heavy, the blood was real, and the price was extravagant.
It would have bankrupted you or me, so He paid it for us.

Call it simple.  Call it a gift.  But don't call it easy.

Call it what it is.
Call it GRACE.

(Taken from God's Inspirational Promises by Max Lucado)

You have been saved by grace through believing.
You did not save yourselves;
it was a gift from God.
It was not the result of your own efforts,
so you cannot brag about it.
Ephesians 2:8-9

Until Next Time,
God Bless
