Do you journal?
There are days when I journal and days when I don't.
Sometimes I journal everyday and there are times when I
go weeks without journaling at all.
Today I'm sharing from my journal entry dated January 2007.
Remember happiness doesn't depend upon who you are or what
you have; it depends solely on what you think.
(Dale Carnegie)
The Merriam-Webster Dictionary gives this definition for the word
"blessed" ~ enjoying happiness.
So I'm thinking.....
Matthew, Chapter 5 is the great chapter of happiness.
Straight from the mouth of our Lord.
The Beatitudes
Matthew 5:3-11
Blessed (happy) are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed (happy) are those who mourn,
for they will be comforted.
Blessed (happy) are the meek,
for they will inherit the earth.
Blessed (happy) are those who hunger or thirst
for righteousness,
for they will be filled.
Blessed (happy) are the merciful,
for they will be shown mercy.
Blessed (happy) are the pure in heart,
for they will see God.
Blessed (happy) are the peacemakers,
for they will be called sons of God.
Blessed (happy) are those who are persecuted
because of righteousness,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed (happy) are you when people insult you,
persecute you and falsely say all kinds of
evil against you because of me.
Rejoice and be glad (happy), because great
is your reward in heaven, for in the same
way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
WoW, that is a lot to think about.
Until Next Time

As we age we realize even more we are not put on this earth to be "happy." But we can be blessed with peace and contentment (happiness) when we rest in Him, despite our circumstances. Nice post, Mary.
Love you, Ms. Mary....HOPE to return to blogging as the Lord directs.
I love the Beatitudes and have not read them in a while. Thanks for this post Mary. LJ
This was wonderful, Mary...
I'm like you~ I do keep a journal, but I don't write in it every day, only when I have a thought I want to save... :)
I've always loved the Beatitudes.
Nice post, Mary!
a lot to think about...but what fun to think about huh?!
Happy March!
I keep a journal of sorts: temperatures, rain, dry, hot days, etc. and now and then something about the farm. It's always interesting to look back over the years. Sometimes I throw out something written when I was sad because it would only make another person sad to read it.
