Come on In...

Hello, please come in !

I've been waiting for you !

Coffee is hot and smelling good.
Of course there's iced tea if you prefer.

So glad you're here.  What do we talk about today?  Weather's still hot, mosquitos are still awful and politics...grrrr...let's not even go there!!  We might have a little Bible study or I can give you an update on Illusions by Frank Peretti.  Strange book, but most of his are.

Smell that roast I've got cookin' in the crock pot?  mmmm good!
I'm letting it cook for a while then I'm adding onions, bell peppers and lots of garlic. It should be good and tender late this afternoon.

In my other crock pot I'm cooking new potatoes and corn on the cob.
I use my crock pots alot, I am such a lazy chef !!
Jimmy crack corn and I don't care...
It still taste yummy.

I'm so glad you stopped by,
please come again the door's always open. ;)

Chatting on the Porch

It's Tuesday and time for
Chats on the Farmhouse Porch

Today's questions:
Do you exercise?
No...plain and simple, No.
My excuse is 'health issues' keep me from exercising.
That is only partly true, there are some exercises I could do, I just don't.
I'm like Patrice, I would rather do some type of activity for my exercise.

What's your favorite type of party or get together?

I love family get-togethers.  I have a large family and it's always so much fun when we are together.  I also love ladies Bible Study.  The most enjoyable was several years ago when we studied the book of Acts.   I always looked forward to Tuesday morning fellowship, laughter, friendship and God's word.
Awesome!
(the coffee and food were good too)

What's your favorite kind of melon?

Is this a trick question? LOL  I love melon...any kind of melon.   When I was a teen-ager my friend Nancy and I would take cold cantaloupe, split it between us and go sit outside to eat it,  We talked about clothes, boyfriends, school, parents...all while eating that cantaloupe....ahhh those were the days.   I'll never turn down watermelon either.  When the kids were still at home I would cut up watermelon put it in a big container, set it in the fridge, ready for them to grab and go!

Do you ever go to a farmers' market?

I would love to go to a farmers' market, unfortunately there are NONE where I live.   Mr D and I both love fresh vegetables, but I have to shop at the local grocery store.

Would you prefer a series of day trips, or a week's vacation?

We are NOT travelers!  We do enjoy a day trip on occasion.  I traveled so much with my parents, when I married and settled in one spot I LOVED it.  Fifty years have gone by and I am still content to be at home.

Thank you Patrice for another fun day on the porch!!

See Ya Later !

( Have you talked to Jesus today? )

Pottery and Ivy

Today is Blue Monday
and I'm linking with
Smiling Sally

Sharing a piece of my pottery collection, the blue rings
make it perfect for Blue Monday.

I really want to tell you about the ivy.
This is a cutting from an ivy that has been in the bathroom window for 5 years.  It was beautiful.  I had pruned and trimmed and babied this little plant and it was just beautiful.
~ALAS~
We had solar screens installed on our windows and it really cut down the amount of light the plant was getting.  I knew if I wanted to save it I had to move it.  So, I had to cut the runners down to a shorter length, that hurt, almost like your child's first haircut.  : (
~ANYWAY~
My little ivy is now at it's new home in another room where it can get the light it needs.  I sure hope it does well.  The cutting you see in the picture is one of the runners that I had to CHOP off.  I have it in a jar of water hoping it will start to root so I can transplant it to a new pot with fresh soil.   I just don't know if it will take or not, we'll just have to wait and see.
~NOW~
The bathroom window looks naked.  It will take me a while to get pass missing that little ivy.  It was just perfect in my bathroom window.....sigh....

Hope you have a great week!!

See ya later,
