From My Journal

Do you journal?
I enjoy journaling, but I must admit I am a part-time jounalist!

Sometimes I journal everyday, and sometimes I go weeks without jounaling.

This is something from my journal that I entered several years ago.  It's a great message, I hope you enjoy it.

I will not see positive results in my daily life if I speak negative things.  I should remember that what I a speaking I am calling for.  I am reaching into the realm of the spirit and drawing out according to my words.  I can reach into  Satan's Realm and draw out evil, negative things, or I can reach into God's Realm, the Realm of Blessings, and draw out good, positive things.  The choice is up to me.

Dear Lord,
Let me find a more positive way of talking about my circumstances and allow my conversation to be filled with hope instead of hopelessness, with faith instead of doubt.
In Jesus Name
Amen

Something Extra

It is only in the giving of oneself to others that we truly live!

Wednesday's Life's Promises for Women

Today's post is so appropriate for Thanksgiving,  I am
thankful that I found it!!

My morning began with an early departure to the downtown courthouse to report of jury duty.  By noon I had connected with a friend, Lucille, whom I had not seen for a while, and we agreed to have lunch together.

I told Lucille that we could go the the nearby sandwich shop to eat.  Lucille place her hand on mine and said, "Cynthia, that won't be necessary.  This morning I made two lunches.  I didn't know who I would be eating lunch with, a friend or a stranger, but apparently my extra lunch is for you!"

I have never forgotten this incident because I was so touched by Lucille's consideration for others.  I feel like I am being kind when I prepare a meal for someone I know I will see.  I don't think I've ever thought of doing something extra for someone I might encounter.

Lucille is a living illustration of selflessness.  I don't think Lucille thought twice about packing an extra lunch.  It was a natural choice for her to give to others in small and surprising ways ~ even to an old acquaintance at a courthouse.

Let each of you look out not only for his own interest, but also for the interest of others.

Psalm 23

Tuesday again and time for something that has touched my .

I came across this some years ago and love it, hope it will touch your too!

The Lord is my Shepherd
That's a relationship!

I shall not want
That's supply!

He maketh me to lie down in green pastures
That's rest!

He leadeth me beside the still waters
That's refreshment!

He restoreth my soul
That's healing!

He leadeth me in the path of righteousness
That's guidance!

For His name sake
That's purpose!

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death
That's testing!

I will fear no evil
That's protection!

For thou art with me
That's faithfulness!

Thy rod and Thy staff they comfort me
That's discipline!

Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies
That's hope!

Thou annointest my head with oil
That's consecration!

My cup runneth over
That's abundance!

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life
That's blessing!

And I will dwell in the house of the Lord
That's security!

Forever
That's eternity!

Wasn't that awesome?

Until Next Time

The Miracle of Man

The word miracle usually brings to mind that which is thought impossible - that which defies the laws of nature.  But the reason for a miracle is just as important as its occurrence.

Many  Old Testament miracles were understood to be signs of God's judgment - a catastrophic flood, the destruction of wicked cities, or the plagues of Egypt, as examples.  Others were viewed as God's protection - the sun stopped in its tracks to help an army win a battle or to strike an enemy blind.

There were also miracles of deliverance and salvation.  After leaving Egypt, the Israelites crossed the dry bed of a parted sea; they ate a steady diet of miraculously supplied quail and manna in the desert; and they experienced a deliverance from venomous snake bites.  There were also great escapes, like Daniel's deliverance from the lion's den and the protections of his companions in the fiery furnace.

The New Testament records many healing miracles, both during and after the ministry of Jesus.  Those who were paralyzed walked again.  The dead came back to life.  Jesus also performed miracles to provide for people's most basic needs - multiplying food and calming storms.

The miracle of man...just as nature reveals a variety of designs working together to sustain life, the human body is like a curtain that, when pulled back, reveals one intricate system after another. We need look no further than our own reflection to see the miracle of God's design.  A drop of our blood contains about 250 million cells.  There are 1,300 nerve endings in just one square inch of our hand.  For the duration of our lives, our hearts never rest for more than a second.

The typical adult human is an example of the miraculous.  Made up of 205 bones, covered by twice as many muscles, the body has a system for breathing, blood circulation, digestion, health preservation, and self-healing.  We wear our largest organ of all on the outside - our skin.  The average adult has at least twenty square feet of it.  Our skin is waterproof, self-repairing, and constantly shedding and renewing itself.  The human body is yet another miracle in an already marvelous creation.

So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them

Six Days of Genesis, Part Two

Billions of years ago, the universe came into existence in a small point, as a massive primordial atom. This “exploded” and expanded over billions of years, to form the universe we now have.

This is a popular view of how the universe came to be and I don’t believe it for one minute!

The God who made the universe and caused its scientific laws to happen is not suddenly going to be fooled by a scientific law that He hadn’t considered. If we believe Genesis to be true, then we can expect science to confirm this, so long as science is sufficiently up to date.

We believe the Bible because it is the Word of God.
Time and time again it has been shown that when better science is available it verifies God’s Word. His Word is the standard by which we judge all other academic pursuits. We can confidently use the Bible in this way, knowing that it will not let us down.

For me, it really isn't necessary for science to prove anything.  God's Word stands on it own and my faith proves it to be true.  I can remember as a child asking my Mother, "why?" on many issues and I can remember her answering me with, "because I said so."  That was enough for me, she was Momma and if she said it then that's the way it was. :)  That's the way it is for me and God's Word, I don't need it verified, He said it and that's enough for me. His Word is verification!!

Genesis 1:2
The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.

In the beginning was complete darkness. God does not need light, because He is light. John’s Gospel says of Jesus, “In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.

The darkness referred to in verse two is indicative of the close presence of God. It is not an evil darkness, but the darkness experienced when a bright light is shone into your eyes. This is the type of darkness that was on the face of the deep. Whatever material God was using to fashion the universe, it was clearly deep. It has been suggested that ‘the deep’ was a large sphere of water. Evidence of this being water is in the third phrase of the verse:

And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.

It is interesting to note is that the Spirit of God was hovering. God is the source of energy as well as matter As science has progressed it is now known that mass and energy are connected, even if it is not always fully understood.
