School of Silence

Everything we receive from God comes by faith.
When you are waiting for Him to speak to your heart, just believe that He will speak to you, even if you don't hear anything right that minute.  We should be aware that there is a kind of school where the soul must go to learn its best eternal lessons.  It is the school of silence.  Be still and know," said the psalmist.

Be still and know that I am God....
Psalm 46:10

For in it (the gospel of Christ) the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, "The just shall live by faith."
Romans 1:17

My word for the 2013, not only do I need to give it, I also need to receive it!

Be kind and loving to each other, and forgive each other just as God forgave you in Christ.
Ephesians 4:32

I/we can choose to chain ourselves to hurt or I/we can put away our hurts before they become 'hates.'

Red Flag ~ Green Light

As we discern where to land on the many major decisions that we make, we must know that God will send us a red flag of conviction when He wants us to "Stop" ......

.....and He will send us a green light of ease and peace to say "GO"

We don't have to wonder what God wants for us.  Remember, He wants to speak to us and He is not an author of confusion.  He gets it right every time!  That's why we must stay tuned to
 God's Word.

When our conscience is not clear, when we are in doubt internally, then we need to just wait.  And if we can verify what we think we hear in our heart against the Truth of God's Word, we will know that it is from the Lord.

How can a young man cleanse his way?  By taking heed according to Your word.  With my whole heart I have sought You; Oh, let me not wander from Your commandments!
Psalm 119:9-10

Tic Tac Throw

Tuesday and time to go see Patrice and Wendell at the farmhouse!
Just  CLICK HERE and you'll be on the Farmhouse Porch for a nice chat!

Today's questions are:

What was your favorite game as a child?

I loved to play hide and seek.  I remember late summer afternoons when all the kids would gather and play hide and seek.  We would play until after dark, by then Mommas were calling us in for supper.  Good ol' days!

Have you ever had your own business? (home business, a shop, Etsy, lemon-aid stand, etc)

I did have a booth in a craft mall many years ago.  My biggest seller were these cuties.  It got to be too much trying to keep the booth stocked, work my daytime job and be a mother to four and a wife to Mr D.   Needless to say I had the booth for a very short time.

How's your spelling?

I thought this picture was tooooo cute!  I was always good at spelling but these days I find myself going to the dictionary (online dictionary) more and more.  I think that all the 'smart' technology we have today has made our minds lazy in many ways.  I can't even tell you my daughters phone numbers, why?, because my phone stores and auto dials their numbers!!!
There are pros :~) and cons :~(  to everything.

How are you about going to the dentist?

I absolutely HATE going to the dentist but I have to go regularly.  I am faithful to go, hating every step I take towards that awful monster chair that grabs me and turns me almost upside down!
booooo  hissssss

Do you enjoy board games?

I love games!  As a child I played a lot of games.  My children usually got some type of board game for Christmas.  I can remember many Christmas days when Mr D and I would be playing the board games while the kids were playing with other things.  I remember one Christmas when the kids got a Tic Tac Throw game that you played with bean bags.  The board was large and the 'x's' and 'o's' would turn over as a bean bag would hit them.  The trick was you set the board on the floor and then tossed the bean bags from across the room.  Mr D's brother, Marvin and his wife, Norma came over Christmas and we played that game for hours, laughing and having so much fun.  Great memory with wonderful people.  Norma's gone to be with the Lord now, I miss her very much, but Marvin was here just last night and we had a great visit!

I love chatting on the porch!!
Thanks Patrice, it was a great visit, tell Wendell hello!

This is the day the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.
Psalm 118:24

Daily Duties and Daily Bread

The best things in life are the nearest.
Breath in your nostrils, light in your eyes, flowers at your feet, duties at your hand, the path of right just before you.  Then do not grasp at the stars, but do life's plain, common work as it comes, certain that daily duties and daily bread are the sweetest things in life.
Robert Louis Stevenson

And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.
Colossians 3:17

.......they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart.
Acts 2:46

Grace

The weakest part of my life can become the strongest part of my faith.

And He said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness."  Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
2 Corinthians 12:9

The Lord told Paul: “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” – So, like Paul, we don't need to be ashamed of our weaknesses. Instead, we can boldly lean on God's strength to overcome the limitations of our weaknesses.

Today's message is from Called Magazine.
The picture is one I took right here in my hometown!

The task ahead of us is never as great as the Power behind us.
