Monday Coffee Talk

It's time for Mr D to renew his driver's license and this time he couldn't do it online.  So Thursday we were off to Baytown to get it done.

Baytown is just down the road and over the BIG bridge!

With that done we came back to La Porte and stopped at Denney's for a late breakfast.  A little ride around town and then home for some porch sitting.

I can't remember if I've mentioned before about my neighbors wild sunflower that peeks at me over the fence.  I love it!!!

They dance with the wind and entertain me while I swing!

Tammy was here for a visit and we were sitting on the swing enjoying the day, when I pointed out the sunflowers and told her how much I enjoyed them.  Our visit came to an end, and she went on her merry way, only to return later that afternoon with a sunflower for me♥

Grow little sunflower and dance with your neighbor♥

Granddaughter Maegan had quite an experience.
She was tending the chickens and when she went to close the gate, Rudey the MAD rooster decided he didn't want the gate closed.  He attacked and made contact with Maegan's leg.

Rudey the Rooster got me, and was kind enough to leave a prize stuck in my calf.

OUCH, this granny thinks Rudey needs to live somewhere else.  I know, I know, roosters will be roosters, but when he attacks my sweet Maeg ? ? ?

Maegan and Merica

Let's go back in time . . .

Tammy and Maegan!
Time flies.

Blessings To All

WoW, the poll choices are just too hard to choose just one, but that's what we're supposed to do.  I choose #one, simply because that really is the way I like to start each new day. But the other three are close runner ups♥

  1. That chicken really went at her!! I am glad she is okay though. What a nice gesture to bring you a sunflower. They are happy flowers and besides my love os Blackeyed Susans, they are a favorite for me. I also wrote a blog on coffee for this Monday. I also chose the warm cup and time with the Lord.

  2. The first one 1️⃣ I mostly relate to but the others are right up there, too.
My goodness, Rudey the Rooster needs some anger management!
    Have a great week

  3. How wonderful of Tammy to bring you a sunflower to play with the neighbors. It's beautiful. Poor Maegan. That rooster needs to find a new home. In a pot. Poor thing.
I choose #1 but with a cup of chocolate milk since I don't drink coffee! The others are close runners up though.
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  5. Since I start every day with prayer as I take my morning walk so I'd pick the last one.
    That is one mean rooster.
    Love your. neighbors sunflowers.

    1. Roosters do have a mean streak in them. I hope they send Rudey to live somewhere else.

  6. Oh my goodness on that rooster attack. I'd no idea they could/would be so territorial. Aside from my own son, I'd say you've some of the most thoughtful children ever. I, too, enjoy visiting with the Lord with a HOT cup of coffee every morning, and the only thing I can think of to add? (Virtual) hugs from my blog buddies; I can't wait to see what's new in Blogland each morning.

  7. My BIL was given 2 roosters on the condition that he keep them safe. Unfortunately they had vicious tendencies and while he would gladly have finished them off he kept his word and re-homed them. Seems roosters just have bad tempers.
I like those sunflowers waving at you over the fence and how sweet of Tammy to bring you one of your own. Some people are just so thoughtful.
