Let’s DillyDally

DillyDally. It’s impossible to say it without smiling, or at least without feeling like you’ve momentarily stepped into a whimsical children’s book. I think we all dillydally far more than we’d like to admit. Let’s face it, we dillydally because our brain loves a good wander.

I’m feeling really accomplished today. I finally found the energy to polish the table and chairs. Those chairs are heavy, and to reach the legs I have to get down on the floor—and the real problem is getting back up again. 😊 That’s a feat all on its own. Yep, I’m very proud of myself.

I watched Singin’ in the Rain the other night—one of those classic films I never get tired of.

The big dance number with Donald O’Connor, Debbie Reynolds, and Gene Kelly is so entertaining, and I always find myself wondering how many times they had to rehearse before nailing it. I also love Gene Kelly’s singing and dancing to the title song, an unforgettable performance. And to think Debbie Reynolds was only 19 when they filmed it—brand new to the industry, yet she absolutely held her own alongside her seasoned co-stars.

I’ve had something on the shelf that I’ve been wanting to share with you, just seems like other things keep pushing it aside.  Well, today is it’s day to shine . . .

I fell in love with the picture, it’s not a staged photo, the photographer happened upon this blue fox in the wild.  Here is the article:

GRAND PRIZE
Kathleen Borshanian

St. George Island, Alaska

“On the high bluffs of St. George Island, there is a 1,000-foot sea cliff where numerous fox trails cut a path precariously close to the edge,” says Borshanian of this enchanting sun- and fog-dappled scene. As she approached the island’s west end, she spotted a female blue Arctic fox about 75 feet away. Hiding behind a tussock, the Salt Lake City photographer used a telephoto lens to record the moment without disturbing the fox or her kits, sleeping nearby.

Mr D got a burst of energy and worked in the yard.  The knock-out roses in front of the window had grown much too tall and blocking my view, so they got a good trim  And now I have . . .

 . . . pretty roses to enjoy.

I’ve been busy on an internet search for all I can find about – NEARER TO GOD. (words for 2026)  There are some excellent articles and messages on the subject.  I go to Sermon Central for a lot of my research.  It’s a great site with so many sermons from great teachers.  I’m putting together my own study guide for the year.  So far, I have 17 pages, with more still to come. I don’t know when I’ll have enough, I guess I’ll just know.  I’ve ordered a binder to keep things neat, orderly and close at hand.

“The concept of God’s nearness to those who call upon Him is a profound theme woven throughout the Scriptures, emphasizing the intimate relationship between the Creator and His creation.”

Until Next Time

  4. I actually didn't dilly-dally too long today and managed to cut out the pieces for three new dresses! I had to keep taking breaks because my back doesn't like standing bent over like that very long.
That blue fox is stunning. I've never heard of a blue fox before. We have a gorgeous fox that has been running around behind our condo building for weeks. It's so pretty and will sit for a half hour at a time by the clubhouse on the sidewalk, sunning itself. God sure had an imagination during the creation of the world. The animals, insects, and geography is all so different and yet works together perfectly. Our God is an Awesome God!
    Blessings and hugs,
    Betsy

  6. Dilly dally is a term my Grandmother always used and now I know why, it really is nice to be able to do that! Hope you are having a wonderful day "dilly-dallying". I loved your idea of doing your own research for your bible study, a great way to keep your mind focused throughout the year! The roses are beautiful! Many blessings to you :)

  7. I love that term ... more so, DOING a dilly-dally! How can anyone pronounce it without smiling? Singing in the rain (the movie) never crossed my screen, but I sure enjoy singing it out loud, just because.
That image of the blue fox is sure something! I thought you were going to tell us, you've bought the print. That would be something I'd like -- provided the $$$ was relatively inexpensive.

I did a little bit of dilly-dallying today but I also got the laundry done, so a good start to the week.

    All the best Jan

  9. I feel like I dilly-dally more than I do anything important anymore. I get distracted by things and start one thing and go to another and then back again and so on and so on, dilly dallying along. I loved the photo of the Blue Fox! That is amazing! What a wonderful moment for that photographer too. I can just feel her excitement and seeing that and actually capturing that picture without disturbing the fox! Wow. Love the roses too. So lovely! And staying near to God is such a wonderful blessing. As we draw near to Him, he always has special blessings waiting for us. I like your words!! Thank you for sharing them with us. (((HUGS)))
