It is a beautiful sunny day outside, but it is cold and windy, which makes it feel even colder.  Mr D has come down with whatever it is I have and now we're both puny.  I do seem to be better this morning which is a blessing.

I'm doing Max Lucado's Study:

Experiencing the Heart of Jesus

for 52 weeks.

So far it's been a great study.

He has said, "I have written your name on my hand" (Isaiah 49:16NCV) Quite a thought, isn't it? Your name on God's hand.  Your name of God's lips.

Things to ponder from week 1:

The God You Can Trust

His job is to fight. Our job is to trust.

You only need to remain calm; the Lord will fight for you. (Exodus 14:14NCV)

God's power is very great for us who believe.

  • If you're not sure what to do, allow God to take the lead.
  • God's job is to fight for you. Your job is to trust in him.
  • The very arms that defeated death are the arms awaiting you.
  • You can trust that God will catch you when you leap to Him.
Week 2: God's Provision
Things to Ponder

Jesus promises us the Holy Spirit so He can care for us at every level of or need. Don't know what to do?  He will guide us. Need an answer for life's questions? He will bring scripture to. Suddenly speechless in a witnessing opportunity? He will give the right words to say.

God says look inside yourself and find Him.

  • The world tries to tell you that everything you need, you already have.
  • But a try-harder-and-do-it-yourself faith will just leave you exhausted.
  • Jesus promises real help to you in the form of the Holy Spirit.
  • The Bible says that the Holy Spirit's dwelling place is within you.

Blessings to All

Until Next Time

  2. I just bought Max's 2025 Devotionals, but not (yet) this study. He's so good!
Lifting prayers you and Mr. D will be 'right as rain' real soon.

  4. I'm sorry to hear that Mr D isn't feeling well either. There is definitely a nasty bug going around everywhere. We just visited Mom a little while ago at the nursing home. She was right as rain last night when we were there, but today she's coughing up a storm. A few of the staff don't sound very good either.
Your study sounds like a good one. God is so good. His Word always brings blessings.
    Blessings and hugs,
    Betsy

  5. I'm so sorry Mr. D isn't feeling well now, but I'm glad you're getting better. That Max Lucado study sounds really good. Thank you for sharing this with us. I enjoyed reading it and gleaned some good thoughts from it. I love knowing that my name is written in God's Hand. That's very comforting. Wow.
