Wednesday Hodgepodge

Hodgepodge Questions-Volume 643

Here are the questions to the first Hodgepodge in the merry month of March.

From this Side of the Pond

Play along by clicking HERE!

1.     As the saying goes, 'March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb.' Did your March come in roaring or like some other animal? Every month carries with it certain feelings, which is why some people love and anticipate December and others dread it. How do you feel about the month of March?

Other than my son’s birthday, March is just another month.  I do like that it starts porch-sitting days and new growth around the yard.  The bird's tweets sound merrier and the wasp are already nesting nearby - YIKES.

2.    Where in your life are you a lion? Where are you a lamb?

I think I was a lion years ago, working and taking care of a family, I had to be ferocious!  Now I’m a lamb loving my grandbabies, retirement, and MrD. 😊

3. The Hodgepodge lands on National Pound Cake day. Do you like pound cake? If so do you have a favorite flavor? Let's play this or that-

pound cake or layer cake

pound cake

pound cake or cheesecake

cheese cake

pound cake or angel food cake

pound cake

pound cake or brownie

both

pound cake or pie

pound cake, what flavor of pie?

4. What makes you feel childlike wonder right now?

Bible archeology and prophecy being fulfilled. It delights me like nothing else can do. He is real folks, and He's coming again.

5. What's one thing you need to add to your wardrobe to get ready for spring? If you're in the southern hemisphere, then answer for fall?

I need a new pair of white tennis shoes. I love grasshoppers but haven't found them in white yet. I might just go for a pair of Keds.

6. Insert your own random thought here.

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: may those who love you be secure.

from: Ps. 122:6

As we lift that prayer today, may we also remember every man and woman standing watch in dangerous places. May God surround them with His protection, steady their hearts, and bring peace to the places they serve. May He shelter every person in harm’s way beneath the mighty covering of His wings, holding them close and keeping them safe.

Until Next Time

Mary

  1. Yes the world is a dangerous place right now, always I guess, but I remember this is not our home. I love my white Keds, but need a new pair. They get dirty and are washable, but look worn out after too much of both. Have a great day!

  2. I like that everything comes back to life in March but not the wasps, they are nasty creatures.
Being a lamb loving my grandbabies sounds lovely and did make me smile.

  3. I think there must be something wrong with my taste buds -- because I've not yet tasted a pound cake I'm fond of. (How NON-southern of me ... right?!)
I love your closing thought. Always pray!

  4. Love the post today and so many of your thoughts are perfect. I'm spending much of my days talking to God as I go throughout my tasks. I pray for the peace of Jerusalem and wake up every morning a bit surprised that we're still here.
    1. Not quite a lamb but not roaring either.
    2.I don't know that I've ever been a lion.
3.I don't care much for pound cake but I do like all of the other choice. :-)
4.Your answer exactly. I'm eagerly watching for the next thing.
    5.Nothing really.
Praying that you'll have a wonderful day my friend.
    Blessings and hugs,
    Betsy

  5. Dear Mary, I have never owned a pair of Keds. I do have Reeboks, though. I want to get a pair of Skechers, never had a pair yet, but I like shoes that are wide, if they are too narrow my feet hurt. I love to walk, so comfortable shoes are a must for me.
This is such a lovely post. Thank you so much for sharing.

  6. Pray, pray, and pray more!! Yes! I enjoyed your answers, Mary! Some of my answers were very similar to yours. I'm not especially fond of pound cake, but do use it as shortcake for strawberries! Blessings!!
