As
I sit here in front of the big window with my morning coffee, I see Roy stop in
front of the house. He’s been mowing our yard for several years now, and I’m
always grateful when he arrives. It truly is a blessing to have someone who
takes such good care of the things we can no longer manage ourselves.
Mr.
D always loved tending the yard — keeping the grass neat, the edges crisp, and
everything looking just so. He can’t mow anymore, but he still pours his heart
into the flowerbeds. He weeds, prunes, and waters with the same quiet pride he
always has. The yard may look a little different these days, but the love he
puts into it hasn’t changed one bit.
Tammy and Bo are traveling around Texas with a jaunt into New Mexico, they're visiting a lot of State Parks along the way. Of course she's sending lots of great pictures of various things, but this is by far my favorite!
There's only three books in this series, nothing was mentioned about a fourth anytime soon. These books were very light and easy reading, yet they kept me wanting to turn the page.

I always love your posts - they are a blessing. I especially needed the Isaiah verse at the end and the words just before it for today . . .
ReplyDeleteThank you, wishing you a very happy and blessed day.
DeleteA great Monday post. Dennis always enjoyed having a beautiful yard and "puttering" around outside in it. I think he does miss it a bit in this condo.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful girls you have.
Blessings and hugs,
Betsy
Thank you Betsy.
DeleteI sure enjoyed my visit here with you today! Emma and Ava are beautiful young women! That gumbo looks yummy! I do count on our Lord to guide me through each day, as I know you do too! xo
ReplyDeleteYep I do! Hope you're enjoying a great day!
DeleteA lovely cardinal in the midst of the green leaves.
ReplyDeleteLovely photograph of your great-grands.
All the best Jan
:0))
DeleteThe cardinal sure pops out in all the greenery.
ReplyDeleteThe books sound good!!
:))
DeleteSuch a beautiful cardinal! They really are such lovely birds! And I know how wonderful it is to have someone else mow the lawn. We have finally turned ours over to a fellow we know. Our big lawnmower broke down and he's been trying to fix it, but it's become too expensive to fix, so we just decided to let him do the mowing for us and pay him to do that! Hubby really doesn't need to be out there in the heat, and that's what we have here in the summer...as you do where you are too. And I used to mow with the push mower, but I can't do that anymore either. So I'm happy for the reprieve. Your grandgirls (great grandgirls?) are so lovely! they certainly have grown up! That just seems to happen overnight! Wow. Those books sound good. It's fun to read some good murder mysteries. They are hard to put down once you get started! LOL. I just finished a good one too. Now I'm looking for more by the same author, Rhys Bowen. Our library does have a few so that's good. She's not necessarily a "Chrisian author", but the books so far appear to be "clean" enough for me to read without blushing, so that's a plus. LOL. Love your coffee time picture. Always a pleasure to have coffee/tea time with you. Have a lovely week.
ReplyDeleteThere will always be a cup of tea for you here at VWM. Thanks for the name of Rhys Bowen, I'm always looking for a good/clean book to read. We're at that season where help is needed for a lot of things, especially yard work!! Hope your week ahead is full of happiness and blessings!!
DeleteWhat beauties, your g'grand-girls!
ReplyDeleteOh Mary, you're so fortunate Mr. D enjoys keeping your grounds spruced and sparkly. Unfortunately, neither Tom or I feel so inclined ... we're good to keep the grass mowed and weeds whacked. Considering everything, I still feel wonderfully blessed.
Blessings come in so many different ways. ((hugs))
DeleteDear Mary, your great granddaughters are beautiful!!! Your photos are lovely! Your gumbo looks scrumptious! And the dishes and mug in your first photo are gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Thanks, Thanks and Thanks. :))
DeleteThat is a lovely picture of the cardinal in the midst of all the green.
ReplyDeleteYou have two very beautiful great-granddaughters.
Thank you GGG, so glad you came for a visit today.
DeleteHello! I am visiting from another blog. You have such a lovely blog!!! I love Cardinals. I would probably love that cozy mystery series!!
ReplyDeleteMary, the girls are gorgeous! And so is that "red bird" :) Those are my favorite! I love cozy mysteries and while working at the library, I got so used to reading large print, that it was really hard to go back to reading regular print. Right now I'm reading Theo of Golden. I took time off to read a Freida McFadden book, so now I've picked up Theo again and think it's going to be a great one. I hope you have a wonderful week. We finally got some rain! Yay!
