We didn’t do too much last week; we really are homebodies at heart. Sometimes a quiet week is its own kind of blessing.
One day we drove over to CVS to pick up a prescription, then took the long way around through Lomax, the little community where Mr. D grew up. Now our granddaughter lives there, along with Mr. D’s brother, so it always feels familiar and comforting to pass through.
From there we made our way back toward town, wandering through a few residential areas just to be sure everything looked the same. Lol—we have to keep up with any changes. We noticed quite a few new homes going up, which was nice to see.
We kept driving and ended up in Shoreacres, passing the Yacht Club and then easing down Miramar, the road that skirts Sylvan Bay. The homes along that stretch are so beautiful, each one with its own charm. It’s a lovely little drive.
On the way home we passed Fischer’s Hardware, and of course we had to stop and admire the new plants they keep out front. So many pretty choices, yet somehow we came home empty‑handed. Maybe next time.
I’ve started a new diamond art project and cracked open a new book, so that’s what I’ll be working on this week. A little creativity, a little reading, and plenty of quiet moments—just the way I like it.
The following I wrote back in March and just didn't get it posted:
Our grand daughter Maegan has several wild bunnies living on or near their little farm. One momma picked her jasmine plant to have her babies. It gave Maegan quite a fright when watering a few days ago one jumped out, she didn't know they were there. She put baby back in her nest, and momma came quick to check on her squealing babies.
Patience doesn’t
come naturally. The Holy Spirit strengthens our resolve to endure without
complaint. After all, God is slow only from a human standpoint. From a divine,
eternal perspective, He’s always working at the perfect speed.

Dear Mary, quiet days or weeks are nice. Your photos are beautiful. God bless you. I hope you have a great week ahead.
ReplyDeleteI so enjoyed your post this morning. Those bunnies are precious. How exciting for you on your 11th great-grandchild.
ReplyDeleteWe tend to be homebodies, too.
OH, those are wild bunnies? They look so domesticated...very pretty little bunnies!! And that new baby great granddaughter headed your way soon? How wonderful is that??? Yes, your family is truly blessed with "growth" in all the best ways! Oh we like to take rides through neighborhoods too and see what new homes are being added...many here are manufactured homes, but we are always happy to see new ones and keep hoping more and more of the old old ones will be 'carried out" to make way for the new.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed this coffee time with you. I am actually having my afternoon cup of tea right now as I read and write. Very relaxing before I have to start supper. Thank you for opening your home to us today. Have a blessed week.
What a surprise to find the bunnies! So sweet!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to Travis and Savannah! Adeline Jane's such a pretty name, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteThose bunnies are so precious; I'd love to have one or several myself.
Congratulations on a soon to be born new little one. Love her name too.
ReplyDeleteThose bunnies are the cutest little balls of fluff. I think their color is beautiful. I don't think I've ever seen one that color.
I enjoyed reading about your morning drive. We've done that too. Just wandering around, checking things out.
Wishing you a lovely and quiet week.
Blessings and hugs,
Betsy
Discovering those baby bunnies like that must have been shocking. They sure are cute.
ReplyDeleteI like little outings like you described. :)
ReplyDeleteSuch cute bunnies.
Congratulations on soon to be number great grandchild 11. You are blessed. :)
Aww those bunnies are so sweet.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your soon to be born 11th great grandchild.
All the best Jan
What a fun post, dear Mary!! Bunnies and a new baby coming soon! I love reading about your random drives and what you see along the way. When I was little, we took a "Sunday drive" nearly every Sunday afternoon. There was no place we were going, but we somehow always ended up getting an ice cream cone before heading home!! Such a sweet memory and thanks for bringing it to my mind with your post today! xo
ReplyDeleteMary, I really enjoyed this post :) I love to take drives through neighborhoods and just look at yards and how they decorate or what kind of flowers they have. There is one particular house that has a yard full of potted plants, which I always find so interesting because all the plants are in pots instead of them having flower beds. But it catches my eye, every time. And we have a wild bunny that comes around daily. I just love them! I hope you have a wonderfully, quiet week.
