Monday Coffee Talk

Good morning, friends. I’m sitting here with my hot cup of Folgers half‑caf, easing into the day and thinking about how the quiet weeks sometimes end up being the most comforting ones. Nothing big happening in my part of the world lately, but there’s a gentle goodness in that.

We started one morning with bacon and eggs — simple and familiar. After breakfast, I spent a little time reading, then watched a bit of The Price Is Right. It’s funny how that show still feels like a cheerful little tradition.

Most of the afternoon was devoted to my latest diamond art project. There’s something soothing about watching those tiny pieces come together.

Later on, I slipped out to the porch for a little while — just long enough to breathe in the fresh air and enjoy the quiet.

I read from The Chronological Bible, Tammy and Peggy are reading along too, had a small supper, and watched TV until bedtime. Nothing exciting, but the everyday routine has its own steady comfort.

Porch time has been scarce lately. The rain keeps coming and going, leaving everything damp and inviting the mosquitos to take over. And the humidity is awful. I did manage a little time out there a few days ago, and it reminded me how much I miss those easy afternoons, just swinging and letting the world slow down for a bit.

We did have a bright spot this week: Travis and Savannah brought little Addie for a visit. I held her for over an hour, and she slept the entire time, even with all the talking around her. That tiny girl is such a blessing and having her in my arms was the sweetest part of the whole week.

As I sip my coffee this morning, I’m reminded that God often works in the quiet, in the routines, the small joys, the gentle moments that don’t make headlines but make a home feel warm. Here’s to another week of simple blessings

Until Next Time

  2. OH that beautiful sweet baby in your arms...how precious!!! I am SO happy for you to have that blessing!! And yes, the quiet times and little routines are comforting. It's too hot here to do much outside, so indoor time can get a little dull if we don't have some interesting pasttimes. We have been watching some of the OLD Price is Right shows with Bob Barker, and yes, we enjoy them so much. Your diamond art is so pretty. And I love hearing from you, like having coffee/tea with a dear friend. Thank you.
