Hodgepodge Questions-Volume 661
Here are the questions to this week's Hodgepodge. Play along by clicking
2. What was peaceful about today?
Most of my days are peaceful, thank You Lord. I have so many things that bring peace to my world.
3. It's National Blueberry Day (July 8). Will you celebrate? You can have one of the following right now-a slice of blueberry pie, a warm blueberry muffin, or a stack of blueberry pancakes...which do you choose?
No, I won't be celebrating, I don't care for blueberries.
This or that-blueberries or raspberries? blueberries or strawberries?
None of the above.
4. Do you need a break? From what?
I would like to take a break from COPD, a very long break!
5. What has surprised you most about getting older?
"Older" has come so gradually I don't remember any surprises along the way.
6. Insert your own random thought here.
Growing older may add a few creaks and quirks, but goodness, it also brings the sweetest kind of shine. It’s the sparkle that comes from knowing what matters, letting go of what doesn’t, and choosing joy anyway. And tucked inside all of it is the steady truth that God has walked with me every step, shaping my days, softening the edges, and filling each season with purpose. Maybe that’s the quiet gift of growing older: realizing His faithfulness has been the thread holding me together all along. So as I step into another week, I hope to laugh a little more, trust a little deeper, and rest in the gentle confidence that God is still writing good things into my story.

Today's Word: Drink
Until Next Time

The "sweetest kind of shine" ... oh, yes! As someone who's married to one with COPD, I echo your wish to take a break.
ReplyDeleteI never thought about drinking my coffee from a teacup, but there are 3 little 'pretties' (that once belonged to my grandmother) just taking up space in our dining hutch. Hmmm!
I do like blueberries but am not a fan of pancakes or waffles. Dear Mary, bless your heart. Although I don't have COPD, I am pre-diabetic and have been for 10 years. I totally understand wanting to take a break from any illness.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your answers so much, Mary! You have a lovely way with your words, and having our God walk the walk with us makes such a difference that non-believers will never know. God is so good, all the time!! Amen! xo
ReplyDeleteLoved reading your answers. I love also love Terri's comment above! :)
ReplyDeleteVery pretty tea cup.
I like all your answers but I can hardly believe that you don't like ANY berries. Wow.
ReplyDeleteThat's a pretty teacup. I find them too small for the amount of coffee I want. I need a big mug :)
I am not a blueberry fan either and NJ has a huge market for them. They grow everywhere here but they give me a sour tummy. His faithfulness is truly great.
ReplyDeleteI appreciate the slower life that I have now, compared to when I was younger.
ReplyDeleteSending love and hugs. COPD is awful.
I love the coffee in a teacup!
I definitely appreciate a slower way of life. Ours can still be busy but the work routines are gone so I especially love the slow mornings. I am a fan of beautiful tea cups and while I don't drink my coffee in one I do have my tea in a real tea cup. Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your post so much! I love your description of growing older...you have that peace that passes understanding that only one who walks with Jesus can understand. However, I'm sorry you don't like blueberries! I've been enjoying fresh ones from my own personal bush every day this summer. They are about to run out, but I've sure enjoyed them on my yogurt and granola, and also cooked in some pancakes. OH, I love that you enjoy drinking your coffee in a pretty tea cup! Doesn't that just make it taste so much better? Thank you for joining in the photo a day challenge! I love your choice of pictures! Have a lovely day my friend. Saying a little prayer for you now.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your answers. I'm so sorry about the COPD. I know that is not a fun thing to deal with. I really liked your thoughts on #6.
