Always Angels

Here we are, the first day of a new year.  Time for fresh starts and new plans....or maybe just a good dusting of old plans!

I'm going to be sharing my angels with you this year.
I am an avid angel lover....
I collect them and I make them....
And have given many away.

The angel I'll be sharing with you today was a Christmas gift from baby brother and his wife several years ago.  It has become one of my favorites.  I chose it for today because of it's message.

"Believe In Miracles"

Isn't that a great thought,
Isn't that what we need in todays world?
Father God, please send us miracles...
To overcome the problems of the world.
Amen

For He shall give His angels charge
over you.  To keep you in all your ways.
Psalm 91:11

I really appreciate your visit..
please come again.

The Dawning of a New Year

I received this email devotional this morning from
Dr. David Jeremiah with Turning Point Ministries.
It is a beautiful devotion for us today, the eve of a
new year.  We don't know our future in a day by day
sense....but we do know what's in our future.  We will
someday reign with the King of Kings,
The Lord God Almighty.
Amen

Dr. Jeremiah

We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from
the body and to be present with the Lord.
2 Corinthians 5:8

"Another year is dawning," prayed the hymnist, "dear Father, let it be, on earth or else in heaven, another year with Thee."  The Lord has brought us through another year, for which we're thankful.  But we're not promised another one on earth.  If the Lord chooses to take us home at some point in the future, that's not a bad prospect.  Paul said he'd rather be "present with the Lord."
Note that he didn't say "in heaven."  Yes, he was going to heaven, but his primary focus was seeing Jesus.  The golden streets are real, but they simply lead to the throne where Jesus is.  The Celestial City is awaiting, but it would be hollow without the presence of Christ.  We can't wait to bathe in the Crystal River, but it's only possible because we've fist bathed in the fountain filled with blood.  And while we're eager to see the loved ones who have proceeded us, we want to see our Savior first of all.

Whether on earth or in heaven, may your New Year be blessed !

As the wonderful Fanny Crosby penned...
The dear ones in glory, how they beckon me to come...
But I long to meet my Savior first of all.

And now in my own words....
May the Lord God of all creation bless you this new year...
May He be your comfort, hope, peace, protector and provider...
And may He give you the deep, wonderful JOY that only He can give....

Happy New Year ! !

I Made A Trip To Barnes and Noble

I am so new to blogging and can't even begin to tell all of you how much I am enjoying this venture.  I have visited so many wonderful blogs, so many talented people.  WoW....your blogs are beautiful....how did y'all learn to do all that?  And the writing, the cooking, the sewing, the crafting, the tablescapes, the photos...and on and on and on.....I am so inspired......alas.....I am so "I don't know what I'm doing!"

So, here's what I did.....I made a trip to Barnes and Noble and I came home with THIS....

Yeah ! ! What do ya think?  I hope to learn a lot about fonts and sizing and centering....etc, etc, etc...! !
My daughter Tammy has helped me so much, she even came by after work a few weeks ago and got me started.  I know she would help me more, but I don't like to bother her at work and she has a hubby to go home to at night....plus her dogs....plus her kiddos.....plus her grandkiddos...plus her church activities...plus....I think you get the picture.
(Love You Tammy)

Not going to get my hopes up....it will probably take me a while to figure it out and get it all down...and I still have Tammy in the wings.....so I'm off.....

Thank you fellow bloggers, I enjoy all of you more than you know.

Mary

PS...I love Jesus, pray you do too ! !

.....And It Was Fun

Here we are in the limbo days...after the Merry Christmas and before the Happy New Year.  I don't know about y'all but this Granny is enjoying the quietness before another weekend of family, friends and making memories...I took down all the Christmas today, and as I looked around the house a sense of melancholy came over me.  So much activity the past month and now..Bam...it's gone, it's over for another year and I feel lost...Isn't that crazy?....The house does look nice though, I always do the "BIG" clean after the decorations come down and I feel the house saying "Thank You."

Little brother will be here New Year's day, since we didn't see him Christmas there will be another crazy afternoon of gift giving, of course we'll have cabbage and black eyed peas to eat...and cornbread...and sweet tea.  Yummy ! !  Lots of good conversation, catching up on what's been happening in our lives...it will be a good day.

I'm gonna close with the last of the Christmas pictures for 2010.  I hope you and your family enjoyed the season as much as we did ! !
