Friday Focus

Gazebos...I Love Them
This is one of two public gazebos in my little town. It's right on main street and every time I pass by it calls to me...Stop, come and sit a while!  But I never do, always too busy, always in a hurry.
I don't think I've ever seen anyone sitting in this gazebo. I wonder why that is?  Gazebos are so romantic and inviting.  It's just fun to sit under the open canopy with the pretty side railings.
And at night, with lights strung all around, what a wonderful place to spend an evening.
This one sits on a grassy knoll overlooking the ship channel.
Because of it's size and location, this one is used quite often.
Sitting in that gazebo on a balmy day looking out over the
water...A nice place to be!

Mr D, please build a gazebo in our backyard..

Hope to see you again soon!

The Lord is my rock,
my fortress and my deliverer;
my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge.
He is my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.
Psalm 18:2
(* the horn in this scripture symbolizes strength)

Happy Friday.
Have a great week-end!

Yesterday was Wednesday

Yesterday was Wednesday and it was a crazy day!
Yesterday morning we were up early to take Bitsy to the vet for her
dreaded surgery.  She was so frightened, those big ol' eyes looking at me saying
"WHY?"  Poor Baby.
(This is not my mailbox, I just wish it was!)
On our way home as we turned onto our street we saw the mail had just
been delivered.  Mr D pulled up to the mailbox and I reached in to get the mail.
OH...what's that?...a package....I haven't ordered anything....hmmm...
As I examined my package I finally noticed the return address...WooHoo...
it's something from Linda @ Parker's Paradise.
Hurry Mr D, get this car in the garage I've got a treasure to open!
Just look at this!
Isn't it sweet, handmade by Linda, I am so pleased.
I love to visit Linda, she always has such wonderful treasures and her
weekly menus will make you wish you could set at her table and share a meal.
{{{{{{HUGS, HUGS HUGS}}}}}  Linda ! !
Thank you so much.
Late afternoon and it was time to pickup Bitsy..
She is so forlorn with her lampshade..:=)
I set in the chair with her as late as I could, finally had to put her in her bed so I
could get some rest.  She did good, slept all night..
This morning she ate well and her incision doesn't seem to be bothering her
at all...It's that lampshade that's driving her crazy...
Sorry Bits, 10 days little girl....and then freedom!!
Today's letter is...you guessed it....~Y~
So glad you stopped by,
hope to see you again soon.

Give thanks to the Lord,
for He is good.
His love endures forever.
Psalm 136:1

Cool Mornings/Pleasant Days

I can't even begin to tell you how much
I am enjoying these cool mornings and pleasant days!
Seems like I've been waiting on fall forever.  We have had such a long hot summer.
Many records were broken because of the triple digit temps that we had for most of the
summer.   A typical summer for us is a gradual rise in the temp....
June low to mid 90's, July mid to high 90's
and August high 90's into triple digits, but this year it was no gradual to it,
the hot days hit early on and stayed until just recently.
In my area thousands of trees have died due to the heat and lack of rain.
We are about 25" under normal rainfall for the year, that is quite a bit.
When you see a tree with the leaves turning it's hard to tell if it's autumn or
if the tree is just dead.  I am so happy cooler temps are here and I still
continue to pray for rain.
For now I am very content to sit on my porch with a fresh brewed cuppa coffee and a good book.  Bitsy Dog is loving the weather too, she just runs all over the yard, barking at the wind, occasionally coming by the porch to make sure I'm still there.  She only weighs 4 pounds but she has 4 tons of energy.

Candice is posting "From the Mouths of Babes" at Blessings Squared !
Her little ones will certainly keep you entertained.

Maybe I'll Sew

I sure have been in the mood to sew lately.
I haven't been sewing as much as I used to because my eyes just don't see like they used to!
Maybe, if I choose something that isn't too small or tedious I'll be all right.
Maybe I'll choose to do something in blue.
I love blue.
Maybe I'll do something crafty.
Place mats, mug mats, tea pot cozy..etc...etc...
Maybe I'll just think about it a while.

(I sewed over there, that's why I'm in the sewing mood.)
