I am reading The Power of a Praying Woman by Stormie Omartian.
It has really energized my prayer life ~ her words have jumped off the page and into my heart.
God wants us for His own. He wants us to find our fulfillment in Him and nothing else. He wants us to walk closely with Him. He wants us to increase our faith and knowledge of His Word. He wants us to put all our hopes and dreams in His hands and look to Him for all our needs. When we do, He will open the storehouse of blessing upon our life. That's because these things are His will for our life.
But none of this happens without prayer. We are to trust Him with our deepest longings, not just our pressing needs. We are to cover every area of our life in prayer and maintain a right heart before Him.
Don't become discouraged if things don't happen as fast as you would like them to. They never do. God wants us to learn patience. Our perspective is temporal, His is eternal. So we shouldn't be concerned if we are not seeing all that we want in response to our prayers. We will, in due time ~ If we draw close to God and do what He asks us to do, if we worship Him in spirit and in truth, if we give of ourselves to others, if we speak God's Word in faith and pray, we will see God's blessings poured out on our lives.
