Delight

Delight yourself also in the Lord, and he shall give you the desires of your heart.
Psalm 37:4
What does it mean to delight yourself in the Lord? It simply means instead of focusing on ourselves, we focus on God. In Colossians 3:2, Paul tells us, Set your affection of things above, not on things on the earth. Paul is telling us to make our relationship with God the most important issue in our life.

Desire to know Him

                                                       Visit with Him

Do all things for His glory

He will give us our hearts' desires, has a two-fold meaning.  One, He fulfills our deepest longings, and two, He fulfills our desire for spiritual wholeness.

Each of us have deep spiritual needs, and only God can satisfy them.  He alone makes whole those who delight themselves in Him.

God places new desires in our hearts.  He makes us spiritually whole.  He gives us new priorities, new values, new desires.

He gives us holy desires, desires for spiritual blessings, desires that only He can fulfill.

And He delights in fulfilling those desires!

Until Next Time
It's delightful to be delighted in the Lord

  1. What an awesome post, Ms. Mary. That truly is one of my favorite verses of scripture. Hope you're having a great weekend and feeling much better. It's almost 60 degrees in East Tennessee. ;)
