Life is but a Stopping Place

I've been away for several days, sitting at the bedside of Momma, she has been lingering in that twilight sleep between life and death.  This morning she breathed her last and went home to be with the Lord.

She was 100 years old and so ready to go home.  My heart is rejoicing for her, knowing Jesus led her through Heaven's Gate and she's with all her loved ones, happy and healed.

Life is but a stopping place,
A pause in what's to be,
A resting place along the road,
to sweet eternity.

We all have different journeys,
Different paths along the way,
We all were meant to learn some things,
But never meant to stay.

Our destination is a place,
Far greater than we know,
For some the journey's quicker,
For some the journey's slow.

And when the journey finally ends,
We'll claim a great reward,
And find an everlasting peace,
Together with the Lord.

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you
1 Peter 1:3-4

Until Next Time
 I can only imagine
When all I would do
Is forever, forever worship You
I can only imagine

  1. Dear Mary,

My heart goes out to you. This is such a lovely photo of your dear mother and you look very much like her. You are in my prayers. I lost my mother in 1983 and my father in 1984, and I understand the pain. God bless you.

You were blessed to have your mother live to 100 years old. You will miss her. You will see her again. Take care. Sending prayers your way.

While I'm sure your heart greatly rejoices in the fact that your precious momma is with the wonderful Lord, I'm sure there is a part of it that misses her very dearly too...

Praying Jesus will strengthen and comfort you during this time!

And thank you for the beautiful words of encouragement you shared! I hope I may live a good life on earth for the Father but oh! How I look forward to forever rejoicing in His presence!
