“Patience is the ability to idle your motor when you feel like stripping your gears.”

Patience. It's amazing how we find ourselves so short of patience at times. It has become a rare commodity in our culture. Frustration builds when the elderly person in front you walks too slow, or the "fast food" line takes too long, or we have to wait on anything! Patience really is a virtue and it is so important to build it into our lives. Doing so allows us to endure the difficult and savor the grand. Let us all choose little by little, moment by moment to be patient. Just one time today, when that frustration builds, take a deep breath and be patient!

I find I'm much more patient in my old...umm....older age! But patience is something I certainly am not going to ask God for! I probably will not like the trial that will go with it! :-)
ReplyDeleteGreat post! Patience truly is becoming a rare commodity in our culture. I know it must be hard to have patience as you practice it during your time of healing from the bronchitis.
ReplyDeleteWonderful thoughts, sweet Mary. Patience is a beautiful thing and something I must ask the Lord for on a daily basis - I am thankful He provides it.
ReplyDeleteYour header is lovely, my friend. Hugs!
Yes, one that I have trouble with and not proud of. I am being taught though. Thanks for the this sweet reminder,Mary!
ReplyDeleteI admit patience hasn't been one of my virtues lately. I am going thru a lot right now with my hubbys cancer. I use it all up on him and when it comes to every day simple things I wonder if I can get thru it. I am thankful for what the Lord has given me thus far....
