Daily Insights/Today's Insight

I've glanced through my new devotional for this year, I think I'm going to really enjoy Zig Zigler's Daily Insights.

Todays devotion really touched my heart, a great message for the first day of the new year.  Here's just a bit for you to ponder.
(Yes Deb, I will always think of you whenever I use that word!)

His scripture for today...

Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call God in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 3:13-14

Paul says forget the past and move on!
What a wonderful way to start our new year.

We should reach forward to fulfill the vision God has for us.

"The day our memories become larger than our dreams is the day our soul begins to shrink."
Ike Reighard

"Discipline yourself to do the things you need to do when you need to do them, and the day will come when you will be able to do the things you want to do when you want to do them."
Zig Zigler

I don't know about you, but I can easily get bogged down in past memories of things I wish I had done differently.  God does not want that for His children, He died on the cross so we might have a clean future.

Looking back robs us of enjoying the blessings God has in store for us.
Let's press forward toward to the prize waitng for us, our future with Christ.

Until Next Time

My 2016 Scripture will certainly be Philippians 3:13-14
AND, I certainly reserve the right to add more scriptures to this as needed.  :-)

  1. Oh I adore that word...Ponder!! ;) Such great scriptures to "ponder" on today. And, so true...living in the past....or down the road like I often do...only means struggles and worry...that's why I chose PRESENT as my focus word for the new year. Happy 2016, my sweet Friend.

  4. I have been pondering on this verse lately, Mary. Thanks for sharing and reminding us that we can do nothing to change what's past but to press onward to the future for God's blessings to come.
    Have a blessed weekend.
