A Closer Walk

Hello, today is Wednesday and we're in the War Room!

Lord,
I draw close to You today, grateful that You will draw close to me as You have promised in Your Word.

Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.
James 4:8a

I long to dwell in Your presence, and I want to know You in every way You can be known.  Teach me what I need to learn in order to know You better.  I don't want to be a person who is always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

...always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
2 Timothy 3:7

I want to know the truth about who You are, because I know that You are near to all who call upon You in truth.

The Lord is near to all who call upon Him.  To all who call upon Him in truth.
Psalm 145:18

And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever ~ the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.
John 14:17-17

I am reminded of the words to an old hymn ~

Just a closer walk with Thee,
Grant it, Jesus, is my plea,
Daily walking close to Thee,
Let it be, dear Lord, let it be

Blessings

Until Next Time

  1. I love your War Room Wednesday's. It seems we need prayer in our lives more and more....or, is that just us getting older and realizing the need is even greater for this old sinful world? I think both!!! ;-) HOPE you have a great day, my Friend.

  3. I love this post! Thanks for the reminders. I love that hymn too. I remember listening to Tennessee Ernie Ford sing that at my grandmother's house when I was a girl. Have a blessed day.
