Monday Morning Coffee Chat

Woe is me!
I still can't shake this respiratory issue...
cough, cough, cough.
Changed my meds up a little, hoping that will help.

Fortunately it hasn't affected my taste buds,
my coffee still taste great!

Because I haven't been feeling well I've not been out much, just staying home and coloring!

It's a fun past time. I like to color in the evening while I watch TV, or shall I say listen to the TV, my eyes are on the coloring book!

I also baked the best cake.  I wrote the recipe while eating lunch at a GLOW meeting.  During all the talking and laughing I didn't get the name of the cake.  So I named it myself.

Arlene's Chocolate Cake
(Can you guess who gave me the recipe? )

1 German Chocolate cake mix
1 cup water
4 eggs
3/4 cup oil
1 can coconut pecan frosting
1 cup chopped pecans.

Add first 4 ingredients and beat for 2 minutes.

Add frosting to batter by dropping spoonfuls one at a time.  Mix lightly with spoon.
Frosting will make the batter lumpy, that's okay.

Add pecans and pour into greased/floured bundt pan.
I use Baker's Joy, sure makes it easy.

Bake @ 350* for 50 minutes.

Delicious!

If you look close you will see writing on the inside lip of the cup. It's a wonderful scripture.

The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, his mercies never come to an end;
they are new every morning;
    great is thy faithfulness.
Lamentations 3:22-23 RSV

Until Next Time
Enjoy your coffee or tea!

  4. Mary, I sure hope you are feeling better this morning..bless you!
    I have made that same cake before and it is really good. Love your tea cup and teapot. That is a favorite verse of mine, it is so true, if it wasn't for God's mercy each morning we wouldn't be here.

  5. Ok, so now I know whom to blame (giggling)---cough, cough, sniff, sniff here as well---and not to mention a sore throat---I guess the weather doesn't help either.

    Have a beautiful day friend...and squealing with delight over your blog change, smiles.

  7. I truly pray you are feeling better today. Thank you for writing even when you don't feel well. But I do hope you are resting. The coloring book looks so nice! I gave a lot of those away as Christmas gifts, but neglected to give myself one! I must fix that. The cake sounds rich and delicious. Yum!
    Please get well soon dear friend!
