Monday Morning Coffee Chat

It's that time of year.....

I've just begun my spring cleaning, inside and out.  I move slow these days, summer will be here before I'm through.....that's okay, I'm retired and have all the time I need.

Shopped the kitchen this morning for anything red and white.  Red and white is so cheerful and uplifting. A great way to start the day!

We went out to eat with these sweeties!
This is our gson Matt and his very special friend Kaylea!  We really enjoyed our visit, young people are so refreshing!

We decided to get out of the house for a little while the other day.  We went to Dairy Queen for ice cream then drove down to the boat ramps at Sylvan Beach.  We were just in time to see the cruise ship taking off.  It was fun watching it move out and turn into the channel, on it's way out to sea ~ going past Galveston and then into the Gulf.  A lot of people on board, looking forward to a great time.

I'm still reading The General Letters (James - Jude), for my Bible time each morning.

Dear friends, I urge you, as aliens and strangers in the world, to abstain from sinful desires, which war against your soul.  Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see  your good deeds and glorify God on the day he visits us.
1 Peter 2:11-12

I've ordered two new books that I'm anxious to read.  Two of my favorite authors, Bodie and Brock Thoene have a new series out, The Jerusalem Chronicles.

Book One ~ When Jesus Wept
When Jesus Wept by bestselling authors Bodie and Brock Thoene, unfolds the turbulent times in Judea during Jesus' ministry, centering on the friendship between Jesus and Lazarus. With rich insights from vineyard owners and vine dressers, the Thoenes explore the metaphor of Jesus as the True Vine, harvesting the ancient secrets found in the Old Testament.

Book Two ~ Take This Cup
When young Nehemiah must travel the long caravan road to Jerusalem, he is charged with an unusual mission---to carry a mysterious object back to the holy city of Jerusalem . . . an object whose reappearance heralds the Messiah's arrival.Nehemiah arrives in Jerusalem just as the final events of Jesus' earthly ministry are coming to a climax: the Feast of Dedication, the Triumphal Entry, the last cleansing of the Temple, and culminating at the Last Supper in the Upper Room. Only Nehemiah understands the true sacrifice that is to come as he makes the cup worthy of his Savior.

Hope everyone has a great week!
Until Next Time
