Monday Morning Coffee Chat

It's been a good week...I've done a little shopping and that was fun!  I've also been working on some Christmas crafts and that's been fun too!

Last night Mr D and I made a fresh pot of coffee, filled our mugs to the brim and went driving around enjoying all the Christmas lights.  It's something we look forward to every year.  It was cold, so we turned up the heat, tuned the radio to Christmas music, and enjoyed being together, isn't what what life's all about?  Alas, it started raining and cut our drive short so we went to Waffle House and had breakfast for supper!

Christmas Trivia
The traditional three colors of Christmas are green, red, and gold. Green has long been a symbol of life and rebirth; red symbolizes the blood of Christ, and gold represents light as well as wealth and royalty.

Family News
My oldest daughter, Tracey, and her hubby, Scott flew to Green Bay this past weekend to see the Houston Texans ballgame!  Too bad the Texans lost..😩

Christmas Quote
"This is Christmas: not the tinsel, not the giving and receiving, not even the carols, but the humble heart that receives anew the wondrous gift, the Christ."
Frank McKibben

A Christmas Poem
Sweet Baby Jesus

Sweet Baby, Jesus, gentle and mild
Born in a manger, sweet, Holy, Child,
Shepherds and Wise Men came from afar,
Seeking a Savior, they followed a star,

Sweet Baby, Jesus, sent from above,
Son of our Father gift of God's love,
In realms of glory, angels did sing
Heavens rejoiced as they welcomed a King.

Sweet Baby, Jesus, Mary's sweet Child,
Light of our life, sweet Babe so mild,
There in a manger, Thou art adored,
Jesus, we greet Thee, our Savior, our Lord.

Sweet Baby, Jesus, send peace to earth,
Lift up all hearts through Thy holy birth.
Now at Thy crib, as evening draws nigh,
Hear this our praises from earth to the skies.

Until Next Time

The gift of love.
The gift of peace.
The gift of happiness.
May all these be yours at Christmas.

  2. What fun to drive around looking at lights! We haven't done that in a few years. Breakfast for dinner is one of our favorites! You shared a beautiful poem. Hugs!

  3. It' always so much fun to drive around looking at Christmas lights. That is a Christmas Eve tradition for us. Thank you for sharing the trivia and poem. I always enjoy my chats with you here!
