Monday Morning Coffee Chat

Another Monday, they sure come quick!

My coffee is hot and the sun is shining. I have the back door open letting the crisp coolness of the morning come inside and it feels so good.

I think it's going to be a good day!

I've been stitching my days away and reading late into the night.

I don't know if any of you remember the Left Behind series by Tim LaHaye and Jerry Jenkins.  I loved this series of books and read all 12 in the series.  I read the first book not long after I retired and was 'hooked.'  I patiently waited for each new book of the series to be published.  I have the whole set on my bookshelf, I also have the entire series on audio cassette.  They weren't putting books on cd's back then, they were on cassettes until the last book which is on CD.  Anyway....I started listening to the series again as I work on my cross stitch.  I'm enjoying it as much as I did the first time, years ago.  For you readers, if you missed this series, I highly recommend you add them to your reading list.

Still reading Beth Moore's new book.  She writes like she talks, fast and furious.  The plot is slow, but her sentences are anything but slow...full of 'adjective phrases' that aren't always necessary.  With that said, I am enjoying the book and it keeps calling me back to read some more!

Monday's Mana From:
Gregory Fleck ~ Hope Restored Ministry

In the OT, we read of Moses and the Israelites crossing the Red Sea on dry land, and then in the NT, we read of Jesus and Peter walking on the water, and also Jesus speaking to the winds and waves to stop a storm. The message is clear: When God has anointed you to get to the other side, nothing can stop you! You'll walk on things that others drown in, and you'll see stuff move out of your way as you move!

  1. I have read and listened to and watched the CD's of Left Behind and never tire of them as I know it wont be long before we all realize the message is coming true very soon. I am like you, stitching and listening...passing the days quietly until we heal and can get back out again. Hope you have a nice Monday....we have rain and more rain, but that is ok, we need it.

  3. You just reminded me I haven't had my afternoon cup yet. DH and I went out for a bit to get some of that gorgeous sunshine. We had wonderful rains yesterday. I read the first in the series, but my husband listened to the entire series on cassette. He really enjoyed it. Happy Monday!

  5. I read eight of the Left Behind series and we also watched the first two or three movies. Good stuff. I'm more than halfway through Beth Moore's book. It really is slow but I'm sticking with it. It at least holds my interest enough to want to finish it, but I'm really looking forward to being done with it. It's just not my usual kind of book.
