Home Sweet Home

Cross stitch is very hard for me these days because of my bad eyesight.  I finally purchase an
Ott magnifying task lamp that makes it easier for me.

There was a day when I would tackle large patterns that would take a while to complete, well, I gave those up!  I just can't seem to stay focused on any type of long term project, I get bored and loose interest very quickly.  The small patterns I do now are just perfect.  I can finish them in a few days and have the satisfaction of a completed piece.

I found this poem while browsing the internet, I think it fits perfectly.

(I only used the last stanza.)

A Home Song
 By: Henry Vandyke

Every house where Love abides,
And Friendship is a guest,
Is surely home, and home-sweet-home:
For there the heart can rest.

       Until Next Time
       Live Life Joyously

  2. Good Morning, Mary. During my 30's, I LOVED to cross stitch. These days, my hands shake too badly but I sure do love to see other's cross stitch projects. This is an adorable pattern and I love the poem to go with it. I hope you'll share your next cross stitch project too. Have a very nice day.

  3. I tried counted cross stitch once and just didn't have the patience for it. I can understand how smaller projects can be so satisfying! I think I'm going to be in the market for a magnifying lamp soon as well. My eyes just can't see as well as they used to.Have a great weekend

  5. I think I accomplished one very small cross stitched picture in my life time, and thought I was so smart, until I saw what others were doing. I never had the patience to sit still that long, unless it was to read a book! I admire what others can do and appreciate the beauty. I love your Home Sweet Home picture and the poem. That would be perfect to me!!!

  6. Very nice work Mary...I use a magnifier so I can keep stitching. It really is like a sedative for me.
