If it's not one thing, it's another

I had to go have blood work done shortly after my hospital stay, just a follow-up.  It came back with as issue.

Kim, the nurse from my PCP's office called and told me my sugar level is much too high and scheduled me to go for another work-up.  BooHiss

We made the short trip to Pasadena this morning and got that taken care of.  I'm sure it will be next week before I get the results.  I'm praying that first test was just a fluke.

The definition of a fluke is an odd occurrence that happens and is unlikely to be repeated.

I just got out of the hospital where they did blood work at least once a day, one day they did it three times.  No one said anything about my sugar levels being high.

So I wait . . .

We were in Pasadena where there are so many good places to eat but we opted to come back to La Porte and enjoy some breakfast tacos at El Ranchero, a small restaurant on Main Street.

Not my picture.

We both had the sausage and egg tacos, I had mine with salsa Mr D prefers queso.

Afterwards we drove down Miramar Drive and enjoyed the bay.

The water is still such a pretty blue.

Well shut the door and light a fire!!  Our weatherman just said there is a slight chance that we could have snow Christmas week-end. The predicted temps are high 20's to low 30's so it might stay on the ground long enough to enjoy.  I can only remember having snow at Christmas one other time, it was a good snowfall that didn't melt for a day or two.  The grands were still little and they loved it, Mr D and I did too.

Doesn't happen often here on the Texas coast, we'll see.

Until Next Time

  1. Praying your test results will show that it was "just a fluke"! And oh, wouldn't it be delightful to have a white Christmas? I would love that as long as I didn't have to drive in it! LOL. It's supposed to get pretty cold here this weekend, but not cold enough for snow, at least not that I know of. But who knows? It could be another "fluke" in the wind! Have a blessed weekend, and just trust God about these old tests. He is always in control, and He will take care of YOU!!!

  3. Sometimes blood test results depend on the day, what you have eaten etc. I hope your work out well eventually.

  5. Sausage and egg tacos sound delicious right about now. (I'll join Mr. D in ordering the queso!) Lifting my prayers that the new blood tests show no cause for concern.
Meanwhile, crossing my fingers that Blogger doesn't decide to eat my comment. (Maybe I should wear a mask so it doesn't recognize me?... lol)

  8. Hi Mary, I hope you new test comes back with good results. Your breakfast sounds good. There is place we like to go to that makes really good chicken soup. I hope you post pictures of the snow. We have been in the 8-'s and 60's, but no snow. Enjoy your weekend!

  9. I sure hope everything turns out okay, like you say, just a fluke. How nice that you at least got to go out to eat and even take a drive to enjoy the bay in what was obviously a sunny day. Granny M.
