Thankful Thursday, a great day to let you know how thankful I am for my amazing family.
Yesterday, the 21st, Mr D and I celebrated our 60th wedding annivery. We were blessed at a wonderful party hosted by our 3 girls, Tracey, Tammy and Peggy.
Most of the family were there, only a few didn't make it because of previous engagements. Tammy had called earlier in the day asking for a list of our favorite songs from long ago, imagine how delighted I was when they were played as we were seated.
Cards and gifts are so nice, but the best gift is being with these loved ones, our family. Merica and Hazel were a joy and I got big hugs from them both. Little Henry decided to sleep through the entire event. :)
Emma met us at the door and escorted us to the area that was reserved for us. I hadn't seen Ava and Emma in a while, they have grown so much. Little ladies now, not little girls.
I love this ornament from Maegan. We both had a good laugh with it. Maegan is my firstborn grandchild and she gives the biggest loving hugs ever. I love Maegan Hugs.
Peggy was sitting to my left with all her family on that side of the table. Tracey and Scott were right across from me with Tammy sitting next to Scott. Mr D was to my right with Bo sitting next to him. The right of the table was Tammy's family. Tracey's daughter Tara and her hubby were also sitting on the right. It was a great time, so much love, laughter and chatter in the air.
Mr D and I told a few stories from our pre-marriage days, the ones we could remember! Everyone seemed to enjoy them, especially the grands.
A friend of Maegan's made this pretty cake, it was a spice cake on top and it looked to be a white cake on the bottom. Spice is one of my favorites, so that's what I had.
I really wish this was a better picture, I don't know why Mr D has his eyebrow arched and my glasses need to be pushed up. But hey, it's us and if you had been there this is the 'us' you would have visited with.
AND . . . it would have been great if you had been there.
Until Next Time
