On the Porch and Tuesday 4

Geez, I've been gone a while, time to get back to my blog.  How are ya?  All is well here and we're just living life day by day as the Lord provides!!

Aint' God Good?!

It's such a wonderful time of year, I just love it.  Of course where we live the temps are still in the 80's.  But we have been teased with a few cool days lately.  I guarantee you on those days I was on the porch, just a swingin'.

I have a new porch friend!  She's always smiling at me♥ Meet Katy Pillar!

Time for Tuesday 4, hosted by Annie!

Bath Time

Hello!  It is nice to have you back again for Toni Taddeo's Tuesday 4.
There is something lovely about a nice hot bath on a  cold autumn night after a busy day isn't there?
Growing up our home had an old claw foot tub and I loved to fill it to the brim and sit there until my toes were like prunes.
Can we discuss the secrets of the bath?

1.Do you take baths or showers?  Is there a reason you prefer one to the other?
I always enjoyed a bath.  Coming home from work and soaking in a hot tub was so relaxing.  Because of mobility issues getting in and out of the tub is a no-no these days.  So I now shower, which can still relax you, just not the same for me

2. Once a day shower or bath or do you have a different schedule?
I don't shower everyday because I'm not physically active. It's every other day for me.

. What are your favorite soap and shampoo?
We use Dove because that's what the doctor prescribed.  I like it, it's very creamy and leaves my skin feeling soft.

4.  Back in the day many loved Jean Nate spray after a bath.  My mom enjoyed Avon's Skin so Soft.. what do you like in the way of skin creams, oils or sprays?
My mother used Jean Nate for many years.  I used Skin so Soft back in the day, now I use Lubriderm extra moisturizing lotion and an after shower spray from Bath and Body works.
My favorite scent is Japanese Cherry Blossom.
  I use Neutrogena shampoo.

  1. Hi Mary! I'm sure tickled to 'see' you (and your little friend) back here in Blogland! We're having about the same weather, so I covet what early morning (cooler) temps there are.
You're the second blogger to mention their doctor prescribing Dove. I never heard that before, but sure enjoy the yummy coconut aroma in my own Dove bottle. My mother was a fan of Jean Nate, too. Nice memories!

  2. Hi Mary, so nice to see you post today! I love your header. We are in the 70's this week and lows down in the 40's which is great for So CA. My dermatologist recommended Dove unscented for my face. Enjoy your porch!

    1. No frosty mornings here yet, it's usually January or February for us. I would take a 70, we're still in the 80's.

  4. I take showers for the same reason you do. I also use Dove body wash as recommended by my dermatologist since my family all have psoriasis. It really helps with the dry skin. My mom wore Wind Song perfume. I wear Japanese Cherrry Blossom too and use the body spray after a shower. Our son who lived in Japan for years gave it to me for Christmas one year and I've worn it ever since. I was so disappointed when they discontinued the perfume.
So glad to see you back here visiting with all of us.
    Blessings and hugs,
    Betsy

  5. I love when you blog. Katy pillar is quite a smiley friend. I love whimsical things in a garden. I took baths until I left home. We only had a claw foot tub and I liked sitting in it but now with spinal stenosis I can't use a tub. Thanks so much for joining in.

  9. Katy Pillar is a cutie pie...a fun and happy little garden friend! I think most of us are all in agreement about not being able to take baths anymore. I guess it's a sign of our times...sadly! But I never was much of a bath person anyway...unless it was a jacuzzi! LOL. I used to use Dove unscented, but have found that the goat's milk soap that I use now actually is better for my complexion, so I hope my source of the homemade soap doesn't quit making it! It costs a little more, but it lasts longer so I think it's worth it. I am trying to have some time on the porch and/or the garden swing these days, but it's still kind of warm here too. But our day is coming...when everyone else is freezing in the snow, we will still be able to sit outside and enjoy the fresh air! Yay! Have a blessed and wonderful day. It certainly feels a lot like Christmas to me this morning...I liked what I found under the tree that Santa brought us during the night...well, actually God answered our prayers, and that's what's good. Now may God bring our country back together and bring healing and peace. All things are possible with God!
