Photo-a-day July 9th

Playing along with Christy T's July Photo-a-day challenge.

Today's word: Calm

Sylvan Bay, the water was so calm the day this photo was taken.

We love going down to the boat ramp and watching the boaters come and go. There’s a calm there that settles over you, the slow glide of a boat easing into the water, the hush of the breeze moving across the bay, the steady rhythm of people enjoying their day. Sometimes we’ll swing by Dairy Queen, pick up a little lunch, and take it with us. Sitting there with a burger, the water sparkling, and nothing urgent tugging at us feels like the kind of peace you don’t have to chase. It’s simple, steady, and good for the soul.

And it always reminds me of the quiet promise tucked into scripture: “He leads me beside still waters; He restores my soul.” — Psalm 23:2–3.

That’s the mood of days like this — calm, gentle, and guided by His peace.

Until Next Time
