George Beverly Shea (1909-2013), the famous Canadian-born singer of the Billy Graham Crusades, 

introduced this hymn to those attending the evangelistic meetings in Great Britain in 1954. It immediately

became a favorite.

I have some great news to share.  Mr D and I are going to be great, great grands again.  Adalynn is going to be a big sister.

Today is Merica's first day of school. (pre-K)

Her Momma said she was a little nervous, but excited too.

The mail just came and I received a new Country Door magazine.  I'll be browsing the pages for a while.

At The Cross

Daily Walk

Just a closer walk with Thee

Even though you don't always see progress in your walk with God, you can be sure that your roots are going down deep, beneath the soil.

God tends your faith ~ the longer you walk with Him, the deeper His hold on you.  You came to Him with nothing and simply surrendered to His love.

And that is all it takes ~ just a willingness to keep walking with Him and trusting that He's strengthening your roots beneath you.

Sometimes Life Hurts

You reach for the broken pieces of your heart. 

You want to make it whole.

But you're not sure how to put in back together.

A loss of a loved one, a job, your health , or loss of a dream can fill you with despair and uncertainty.  Or maybe you're feeling lonely or disappointed.  While you should honor your feelings and heartache, know you are not alone.

God is with you, walking beside you.

Take His hand.

But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.  They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not faint.

Isaiah 40:31
