I was so delighted when Tammy gifted me with this beautiful wreath!

She made it with her on little hands! 😃♡
I just love it.

Jesus willingly offered Himself once for all to atone for the sin of the whole world.

Hebrews 7:27

Before the foundation of the world was laid, God, in His divine sovereignty, planned to send His own Son to the cross to be our Savior.
Anne Graham Lotz

The devil claimed a victory that afternoon, but only so Jesus could win victory forever.
Dave Earley

It Is Finished.

At Calvary

The Baptist Hymnal No. 138

1. Years I spent in vanity and pride,
Caring not my Lord was crucified,
Knowing not it was for me He died
On Calvary.

2. By God's Word at last my sin I learned;
Then I trembled at the law I'd spurned,
Till my guilty soul imploring turned
To Calvary.

3. Now I've giv'n to Jesus ev'rything,
Now I gladly own Him as my King,
Now my raptured soul can only sing
Of Calvary.

4. Oh, the love that drew salvation's plan!
Oh, the grace that bro't it down to man!
Oh, the mighty gulf that God did span
At Calvary.

Refrain:
Mercy there was great, and grace was free;
Pardon there was multiplied to me;
There my burdened soul found liberty
At Calvary.

Luke 2:6-7

So it was, that while they were there, the days were completed for her to be delivered. And she brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.

Away in a manger, no crib for a bed,
The little Lord Jesus laid down his sweet head.
The stars in the sky looked down where he lay,
The little Lord Jesus asleep in the hay.

The cattle are lowing, the baby awakes,
But little Lord Jesus no crying he makes.
I love Thee, Lord Jesus, look down from the sky
And stay by my cradle til morning is nigh.

Be near me, Lord Jesus, I ask Thee to stay
Close by me forever, and love me, I pray.
Bless all the dear children in thy tender care,
And take us to heaven, to live with Thee there.

The hope of Christmas lay in a manger, went to the cross, and now sits on the throne. May the King of kings bless you and keep you.

Luke 1:18-25

18 And Zacharias said to the angel, “How shall I know this? For I am an old man, and my wife is well advanced in years.”

19 And the angel answered and said to him, “I am Gabriel, who stands in the presence of God, and was sent to speak to you and bring you [a]these glad tidings. 20 But behold, you will be mute and not able to speak until the day these things take place, because you did not believe my words which will be fulfilled in their own time.”

21 And the people waited for Zacharias, and marveled that he lingered so long in the temple. 22 But when he came out, he could not speak to them; and they perceived that he had seen a vision in the temple, for he beckoned to them and remained speechless.

23 So it was, as soon as the days of his service were completed, that he departed to his own house. 24 Now after those days his wife Elizabeth conceived; and she hid herself five months, saying, 25 “Thus the Lord has dealt with me, in the days when He looked on me, to take away my reproach among people.”

In this passage, Zechariah, a priest, expresses doubt when the angel Gabriel tells him that he and his wife Elizabeth will have a son despite their old age. He questions how this can happen, given their circumstances. This doubt leads to his temporary muteness as a consequence of his disbelief. The angel, Gabriel, reassures him, emphasizing that nothing is impossible with God. After the announcement, Elizabeth conceives and keeps her pregnancy hidden for five months, reflecting her humility and perhaps a desire for privacy.

This passage highlights themes of faith, divine intervention, and the fulfillment of God's promises, setting the stage for the significant role John the Baptist will play in the New Testament narrative.

Reflect on the story of Zechariah and Elizabeth. Trust in God’s promises. Believe in miracles. Stay faithful in prayer and obedience. Will you embrace the power of God’s timing and promises for your life?

"If YOU can push away the CLOUD of doubt, YOU will SEE the GLORY of God." — Unknown

I don't so much pray that my death will be without pain, but that it will be without doubt.

- John Piper

Doubt discovers difficulties which it never solves; it creates hesitancy, despondency, despair. Its progress is the decay of comfort, the death of peace. "Believe!" is the word which speaks life into a man, but doubt nails down his coffin.

- Charles Spurgeon

My faith has revealed the handprints of God in my life time and again. Yet, there are moments when I find myself like Thomas, wrestling with doubt and longing for assurance. In those times, my prayer rises simply and sincerely: ‘Increase my faith, dear Lord.'

On The Porch

“It looked like the world was covered in a cobbler crust of brown sugar and cinnamon.”
– Sarah Addison Allen

♥♥♥ I am loving this cooler weather♥♥♥

The weather here has been wonderful and each morning calls us outside to enjoy time on the porch!  As you know, my porch swing is one of my favorite places to be, a place where I can lose myself in my thoughts and prayers.

“Living in a state of gratitude is the gateway to grace.”
– Arianna Huffington

I still have hibiscus blooming.

I think these pink ones with the red centers are so pretty.

I was late hanging my fall flags, but finally got it done.

“The morns are meeker than they were – The nuts are getting brown – The berry’s cheek is plumper – The rose is out of town.”
– Emily Dickinson

And on a family note:

Henry was here a few days ago and I let him play with all my trucks!  Oh he loved them, lining them up and rolling them around, kept him busy for a while.  Now I keep them on the kitchen window sill so they'll be ready for his next visit.

"In your laughter, the world feels bright,
Every moment with you, a pure delight."

He is all BOY. He makes my heart happy.

As the leaves fall and the air turns crisp, November invites us to slow down and reflect. It’s a month of gratitude, of gathering, of remembering God’s faithfulness through every season.

Scripture: "Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever." — Psalm 107:1 (NIV)

Even when days grow shorter and life feels quiet, His goodness remains. Let this month be a gentle reminder to pause, give thanks, and rest in His enduring love.

Blessings to All

Hello July!

Time to turn the calendar once again.

Hello July!!

We have a tropical wave in the gulf and predictions of heavy rains this week.  I sure hope it doesn't rain out the fireworks on the fourth.  So many people enjoy them and we can watch from our back porch.  We live that close to Sylvan Beach where the city oversees a wonderful fireworks display

Our daughter and one of our grandsons will celebrate their birthday this month and our granddaughter and her hubby will celebrate their first wedding anniversary.

It's also a month of extreme heat here in my part of the world.  High humidity makes it more miserable.  I'll spend very little time on the porch for the rest of the summer.  With that said, I'll open the blinds and sit by the window and still be able to enjoy my porch....while sitting under the air conditioning.  😊

The GLOW Ladies have started a new Bible Study, 'The Rock, The Road, and The Rabbi,' with Kathy Lee Gifford.  We had our first session Saturday and I think it's going to be a good study.

Based on her book, The Rock, the Road, and the Rabbi, Kathie Lee Gifford takes you on a journey through the Jewish roots of Jesus and the ancient paths of Israel in this 6-session DVD study. You'll learn more about the Rock (Jesus Christ), explore the Road (Israel), and dig deeper into the Bible with the Rabbi (God's Word).

When she began studying the biblical texts in their original Hebrew and Greek and hiking the ancient paths of Israel, Kathie Lee discovered a deeper understanding of the Bible and of God Himself. Throughout the study, Messianic Jewish Rabbi Jason Sobel provides additional insight into the Hebrew language, culture, and heritage will open your eyes to the Bible like never before.

It's been a while since I've shared pictures of the great grandgirls.  Their parents took them to The Kemah Boardwalk and rode the rides with them.

They were excited!

I love this quote by Patrick Henry.

Love Quotes

Love is the doorway through which the human soul passes from selfishness to service.
Jack Hyles

Since love grows within you, so beauty grows.
For love is the beauty of the soul.
Augustine

You can always give without loving, but you can never love without giving.
Amy Carmichael

Everything God does is love ~ even when we do not understand Him.
Basilea Sclink

It's been a cold, rainy day.  I stayed in, did some cleaning and rearranging, just a lot of little things I've been wanting to do.  I also managed to get several loads of laundry done, it was a good day and I feel like I accomplished a few things around here!

Needless to say, I'll be ready to get out tomorrow.  Maybe some thrifting, haven't been in a while.
