Hello
friends and welcome to Tuesday 4 in honor of Toni Taddeo and hosted by Annie.
Here are some questions for you on the topic of shopping.
1. Where
do you like to buy your groceries and do you buy by the day, week or month?
We shop at Kroger usually once a week.

2. What foods would we always find in your kitchen?
Like most people, the staples of cooking. Sugar, flour, seasonings, etc. We keep Marie Cavendar tv dinners in the freezer, along with ice cream and popcyles. We keep some canned veggies in the pantry where you’ll also find coffee and tea bags. We don’t do a lot of cooking these days, mostly we eat out or pick up an order.
3.Do
you buy anything online and if so what kinds of things are you most likely to
buy there?
I buy some household products on line, but not many. Mr D still does our shopping and says he wants to continue doing that as long as he can. He’s a tough soon to be 84 old guy.
4. Do
you shop with a list on paper, on your phone or do you just shop without a list
and maybe come home with things you never planned to buy?
When I did the shopping I never took a list with me, I just knew what we needed - unless, I was baking something new, then I would make a list of the specific items needed. Now that Mr D does the shopping he always makes a list. We will sit at the table and make it together.
Not a thing! We are hosting our quarterly lunch with the girls and their hubbies. Menu will be Pizza! Pizza Hut will do the cooking!
The more positive your thoughts are, the more beautiful your world will become.

We are very similar to you although we don't have Kroger here. We buy most of our groceries at Walmart. I used to shop with no list unless it was something I rarely bought, then I would write it down so I wouldn't forget. Hubby now does the grocery shopping. We have a list on the table between our chairs and write down things when we think of them. There are certain things that are always purchased. Bread, milk, frozen veggies, etc. I have always detested shopping in any form and he doesn't mind a bit so since he retired he does it for us. I buy a lot of things on Amazon. Lots of various items ranging from camping things to clothes.
ReplyDeleteI hope your Tuesday is a wonderful one. We're supposed to be all the way up to 55 after being only 14F for the high yesterday. We're looking forward to a lot of the snow melting away today.
Blessings and hugs,
Betsy
Hi dear Mary, we don't have Kroger here in Montreal, Canada. I try to do my grocery shopping every two weeks.
ReplyDeleteI take public transit, so I get a large order done at the grocery store and they deliver it to my 6th floor apartment for just $2 for seniors.
I order enough to cover me for 2 weeks, which isn't difficult, as I live alone.
We usually go once a week to Walmart. Not my favorite place to shop but it is the cheapest. Always go with a list.
ReplyDeleteI think one of the hardest things for Tom right now is not being able to pop in the grocery whenever the whim strikes! Like my late father, I suspect that's his favorite place.
ReplyDeleteMe, on the other hand? I get all our non-perishables from Wal-Mart online. Even when shopping at Publix or Food Outlet, I use the WM app as my shopping "list."
Hi Mary, pizza for the win! I do most of the shopping and don't like to take the hubby. He likes to put extras in the basket. Since I do most of the shopping, he does most of the cooking. I think it is good for Mr. D to shop. Getting out is nice and I know it is hard for you. Couples learn to do works best for them. Enjoy the rest of the week!
ReplyDeleteYou and Mr. D seem so perfect together.
ReplyDeleteIt's great to have someone to share the workload with in areas that work for you best. It's so nice not to have to cook when company is coming.
ReplyDeleteFun answers. We don't have actual Krogers, but we have Fred Meyers who I think Krogers bought, so still called Fred Meyers but some Kroger products.
ReplyDeleteHi Mary :) We shop Kroger once a week. You can always find coffee and creamer, some kind of chips, some form of chocolate, taco meat in the freezer ready to go, with most of our groceries either in the pantry or freezer. With just the two of us, I fix meals that are smaller and freeze what's left if we don't eat it right away.
