I am a descendant of the Killough family. As I've mentioned it in previous blogs, my family settled in East Texas in the early 1800's, shortly after they were massacred.
HERE is the story as told by my great grandfather, Uncle Billy.
The Killough Monument
William Boykin Killough
Narcissa Norris Killough Sammons
Footprints Through Time
In the soft earth, where stories lie,
Footprints of ancestors whisper and sigh.
Each step a tale, each mark a song,
Tracing the paths where we all belong.

I have done a lot of genealogy research and have a letter written by an ancestor who went west, and she tells that the heads of several men in the area were found on fenceposts, left there by indians. Pretty gruesome, what some of our ancestors wenr through to settle here.
