Closer Walk

Galatians 5:16
I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.

I am weak but thou art strong
Jesus keep me from all wrong
I'll be satisfied as long
As I walk, let me walk close to thee

Just a closer walk with thee
Grant it, Jesus, is my plea
Daily walking close to thee
Let it be, dear lord, let it be

When my feeble life is o'er
Time for me shall be no more
Guide me gently, safely o'er
To thy kingdom's shore, to thy shore

When life's sun sinks in the west
Lord, may I have done my best
May I find sweet peace and rest
In that happy home of the blessed

Just a closer walk with thee
Grant it, Jesus, is my plea
Daily walking close to thee
Let it be, dear lord, let it be

 ~ Sharing a Memory ~
This song brings back childhood memories of my two older brothers.  They were seven and nine years older than me and I adored them.  They always found ways to entertainment me and our little brother.  The home where we lived had a small 1/2 wall between the eating area and the living room.  My brothers would stand behind that 1/2 wall, while little brother and I would be the audience in the living room, and put on a show, as in Grand Ole Opry type show.  I remember they would burn big kitchen matches, blow them out and use the charred remains to paint sideburns and mustaches on their faces.  So funny, but I loved it!  They would sing these old gospel and country tunes and little brother and I would clap and laugh.

My big brothers now live in heaven, where they're not just walking close to Jesus, but actually walking with Jesus.

Such good memories ~ long ago and far away.

Until Next Time
Let it be, Dear Lord, let it be.

  5. Mary, lovely memory... My siblings were so much older than me. My sister was 17 years older and my bro 11 years so I felt like an only child. You are lucky to have such memories.
