The Book of Isaiah

While cleaning out some old folders I found this short study on Isaiah 41:10, which happens to be one of my favorite scriptures.
I made a tag just for this post.

In Isaiah chapters 40 and 41, we have several examples of God's faithfulness in a personal way.  The promises found in these passages should be a comfort to all believers, for in chapter 40, verses 28-31, we find three wonderful truths about God.

In verse 28, He knows;  in verse 29, He gives;  and in verse 30 and 31, He sustains.  Then in chapter 41, verse 10, we read:

"Fear thou not; for I am with you: be not dismayed; for I am your God: I will strengthen you; yea, I will help you; yea, I will uphold you with the right hand of My righteousness."

In this verse we have two not's: fear not and be not dismayed; two I am's: I am with thee and I am your God; three I wills: I will strengthen thee, and I will help thee, and I will uphold thee.

The progression in this verse is most precious: "I am with you"; but He comes yet nearer: "I will strengthen you"; and still closer: "I will help you"; and finally, He throws His arms around His Child and says, "I will uphold you."

God says to us, I know you have fears; I know you get dismayed, but I also want you to know I am with you.  I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, and I will uphold you.  I will not leave or forsake you.  I will give you strength, and I will hold you by the hand so you will not fall.

I call on this scripture often.

What a wonderful Heavenly Father we have!
