Arise, Shine!

HELLO !!

Well, I guess I just took the shortest sabbatical ever recorded!

When the Lord speaks to your heart, you must listen and obey.

I was thumbing through my Midnight Call magazine when the words, Arise, Shine!, jumped off the page.  I was immediately taken back to precious memories of my Daddy waking me up with those same words ~ well, almost those same words, Daddy would say, "Rise and Shine!"  He wasn't home often in the mornings because of his work, but when he was it was always a treat to hear him say those words.  A wonderful way for a little girl to wake up and start her day.

Now here I am an older lady and I'm hearing my heavenly Father say those same words to my heart, "Arise, shine"! And He's prompting me to share them with all of you.

So....from Midnight Call, September 2015 issue...

"Arise, shine!"

In view of Zion's future rule, the prophet Isaiah called to the people of Israel at the Lord's command, "Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee" (Isaiah 60:1)  This promise may be claimed by all those who belong to Jesus Christ, so that God is praised through them (2 Corinthians 1:20).  Here we have a glorious Gospel message before us, for we know who the true light of the world is: Jesus Christ.  He Himself said, "I am the light of the world" in John 8:12.

What must we do, then, when we are in a deep pit and want to come in contact with the heavenly light, our Lord Jesus Christ, again?  We must claim in faith the light of our Savior.  This is the reason for the call, "Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee!"  The light and the glory of the Lord are there, but we must arise and claim it againl.  This is a decision of faith which we are called to make, "Arise, shine, for thy light is come!"  If we arise in faith, we will experience the glory of the Lord in our lives in the way it is written,...."For thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee!"

Until Next Time
I'm gonna Arise, shine and claim the Light of the Lord!
Would love for you to join me!

  2. I am so happy you were moved to come back so soon! Hallelujah! While reading your post, I started thinking of the old youth fellowship song...."This little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine..." Excellent reflection, Mary!! Praise God.
