Love Sews A Bond

I'm so excited!
I've started a new cross stitch.

It's been several months since I've had a needle and thread in my hands.
Feels good.

Just look at all that thread!
Ain't it purty?

I did this cross stitch the year I retired.
I love the picture, it was a lot of fun to stitch.

Magazines, wonderful magazines......I am truly a magazine junkie!
Sad thing is, mostly I only read the headlines and look at the pictures.
I know, it's crazy!

But....sometimes a headline really catches my interest and I am compelled to read the story.  That's what happened today when I picked up my November issue of Midnight Call magazine.

"Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world."
John 1:29

Have you ever thought about that?

I don't think I have....

Here's what the article had to say.

The Lord Jesus is called the Lamb of God for three reasons:

~ 1 ~
He is called a Lamb to reveal His nature to the world.  A lamb is a picture of innocence and purity.  Jesus was in all things true man: tempted like us, yet without sin....as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.

~ 2 ~
He is called the Lamb of God to show us His way.  He came to this earth with the clear aim of God, namely to be slain for our sins. He was not taken by surprise by His execution, but said in holy determination, "For this cause came I unto this hour."  A characteristic of the lamb is that it does not resist when it is slaughtered.

~ 3 ~
Jesus is called the Lamb of God to reveal to us the nature of His victory.  What is more helpless and defenseless than a lamb?  This is why the words are so mighty in their divine contradiction, "Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world."  What power made the weak Lamb capable of carrying away the sin of the world?

Here is the answer: behind Him was the world-embracing love of God.  It does not merely say, "Behold the Lamb," but, "Behold the Lamb of God"!

Whoever follows the Lamb will experience exactly the same thing: in the greatest weakness he will accomplish the hardest things of all..

His strength is made perfect in weakness!

WoW!! Isn't that wonderful?  I sure think so!

Until Next Time
So glad you stopped by!

  1. What a beautiful cross-stitched picture, Ms. Mary. I just can't see to do that any more. Jess has the bigger things I did many years ago....an Amish farm scene and the Lord's Supper. Love the scripture reading, too. I didn't know that about lambs when they were going to be slaughtered, that they didn't fight it. WOW....just like our Savior!
