Wednesday Questions

BLONDE OR BRUNETTE?
Neither these days!  Once upon a time I was a brunette.  Some might say I'm gray, but I prefer to say I am platinum.

WHAT IS THE ONE NUMBER YOU CALL MOST OFTEN?'
I don't make a lot of calls these days,  I would guess to say I call Mr D the most.

WHAT ANNOYS YOU MOST?
Cars that won't start and toilets that won't flush!

HAVE YOU BEEN OUT OF YOUR COUNTRY? WHERE DID YOU GO?
I have been out of the country but not too far.  I've been to Mexico and lived in Canada for a while, that was years ago.

FAVORITE FOODS?
I think I've mentioned before, my favorite foods are anything my Momma cooked.  She was a whiz in the kitchen.

FRIES/CHIPS, RICE, OR BEANS?
Red beans and rice, with some sliced tomatoes on the side.  A big chuck of cornbread and a glass of sweet iced tea!  Yummmmmy

FIRST JOB?
I was a soda jerk at Sylvan Drug Store the summer after my sophomore year in high school.  That's where I met Mr D.

WHAT KIND OF CAR(s) DO YOU HAVE NOW?
Ford
(Found On Roadside Dead)
Just a little humor, I've driven a Ford for many years without any issues!

WHAT WERE YOU DOING BEFORE YOU FILLED THIS OUT?
Texting with a friend.

HAVE YOU EVER RIDDEN A MOTORCYCLE?
Yes I have, not really my favorite thing to do.

Now I have a question for all of you....
Do you remember your phone number when you were still living with Mom & Dad?

Our number was...GA (Garfield) 1-2208

Mr D called that number many times, long ago and far away!

Until Next Time,
Wishing you happy and blessed days!

  3. My mom was a Soda Jerk for Woolworths, honest. Do, you know, my parents still have our childhood phone number? Yep...when we moved to Florida from Chicago, I was 8 yrs ago, here it is 41 yrs later and they still have the same number.

Have a joyful day, sweet friend.

  4. Love your Q&A's! Would you believe we didn't even have a phone when I was growing up? I had to go use my Mamaw's...LOL I think I was out of high school before Mom and Dad got one and my Mom still has the same number, so I won't publish it. ;-)

  6. Miss Mary...you know I love the question game?

    BLONDE OR BRUNETTE?
Blondish brown I guess you would say! I can tell you what it cost me though to have my hair colored with highlights every 6 weeks! LOL!

WHAT IS THE ONE NUMBER YOU CALL MOST OFTEN?'
I'm with you...don't call a lot either since texting seems to be the way to go. But when I am home I do call my man cause I live so far out in the country that he can't get my texting if I'm home.

    WHAT ANNOYS YOU MOST?
Sassy women with an attitude! (that might be a soap box for me today so I will hush)

HAVE YOU BEEN OUT OF YOUR COUNTRY? WHERE DID YOU GO?
    Nicaragua and Mexico.

    FAVORITE FOODS?
Fried chicken hands down! But I pretty much like EVERYTHING!

    FRIES/CHIPS, RICE, OR BEANS?
    Chips...my downfall!

    FIRST JOB?
Paying job or non-paying? LOL! I grew up working at an early age. We owned a laying chicken farm with 6 houses along with planting a huge garden each year to carry to market and lots of cattle to tend too. But my first paying job was at a Jiffy food store at age 16(they don't call it that these days) and then my senior year of HS I became the soda jerk at Raynor Pharmacy. Good old fashion cherry cola's and lime sours!

WHAT KIND OF CAR(s) DO YOU HAVE NOW?
We have a White Ford SUV, a white Ford pick up truck and my husband drives a white Ford company truck. YEP...white is cheaper!

WHAT WERE YOU DOING BEFORE YOU FILLED THIS OUT?
    Texting my man

HAVE YOU EVER RIDDEN A MOTORCYCLE?
    Yes, I didn't like it.

Now I have a question for all of you....
Do you remember your phone number when you were still living with Mom & Dad?
Only the first 3 digits. 843

This was fun today! Hugs and blessings, Cindy

  7. Oh what fun! I am your newest follower! Thought I'd share my answers here.

    BLONDE OR BRUNETTE?
Blonde still, but graying up around the temples - good thing my younger daughter is a licensed hair dresser and makes house calls, haha!

WHAT IS THE ONE NUMBER YOU CALL MOST OFTEN?'
Latley that same daughter - she is due any day now to have her first baby, my first grandchild. It will be any day now! Whoo hoo! ♥♥♥

    WHAT ANNOYS YOU MOST?
LOL I have too many haha. Drives me nuts my husband always leaves lights on all over the house - I shut them all off, and if I am gone a while and come home there literally will be a light burning in the garage, the basement, upstairs, walk-in closets and every room he walked in. : - (

HAVE YOU BEEN OUT OF YOUR COUNTRY? WHERE DID YOU GO?
France, Spain, Ireland, Mexico and Canada. Italy is next.

    FAVORITE FOODS?
Italian, Chinese are my favorites. I do love well prepared seafood too.

    FRIES/CHIPS, RICE, OR BEANS?
I'm Irish so fries wins, but I like kettle chips, love rice and love black beans with a ton of fresh cilantro.

    FIRST JOB?
At a tiny Mom and Pop's pizza place.

WHAT KIND OF CAR(s) DO YOU HAVE NOW?
A Bright Red Mini Cooper. We just bought a 2016 Honda CRV-Touring a few days ago too, as hub's Chevy Van just wasn't worth fixing anymore - it had 200k miles on it!

WHAT WERE YOU DOING BEFORE YOU FILLED THIS OUT?
Laundry. I am reading blogs between housework today.

HAVE YOU EVER RIDDEN A MOTORCYCLE?
My first husband had one I rode just once, scared me to pieces, not my thing either.

Now I have a question for all of you....
Do you remember your phone number when you were still living with Mom & Dad?

    Sure do - (419) 797-4417!

Our number was...GA (Garfield) 1-2208 < now is that Detroit? I have this memory of a radioi advertisement jingle on AM CKLW singing "Garfield 1 2323,, Garfield 1-2323!" Am I dreaming? My older sister remembers those kinds of exchanges when they lived in Michigan, she remembers it but I don't, we moved when I was 3 to the 4417 number in Ohio. : - )

This was fun. Nice to meet you. Found you from my old friend Sylvia's blog "A Grandma's Blessings"
