Monday Morning Coffee Chat

Another Monday, they come around much too fast these days.

A Little Trivia
The word “harvest” comes from the Old Norse word haust, which means “to gather or pluck.” As people moved to the cities, “harvest” fell out of use and city dwellers began to use “fall of the leaf,” which was shortened to “fall” to describe the change in season.

Did You Know
The name "pumpkin" comes from the Greek word "pepon," which means large melon.

I am gradually beginning to understand that the notion of bringing God into everything has nothing to do with trivializing Him; it has to do with the privilege of partnering with Him.

GLOW met at my house this past week.  It was a fun time and we enjoyed Peggy teaching us about "Sharing Your Faith."

I've been enjoying all the Christmas Movies on the Hallmark Channel.  Cute little stories where they always live 'happily ever after!'  With all the ugliness we're seeing around us these days, these simple movies leave me smiling and in a good mood.  It's a refreshing feeling.

I've enjoyed a teaching, "Believers in Bondage," by Robert Morris from his series, "Free Indeed"

  3. Very interesting info here in your post and how we came to call it fall. Many of my friends attend Gateway Church and love Robert Morris. I attend some of their events occasionally and they are always good. Especially Pink Impact.

  4. Mary, we watched a bunch of those Hallmark movies this weekend. Good for the soul. When one of them ends, Joe ALWAYS says "No one took their clothes off and no one said a bad word." They are all sweet movies with happy endings - just what we need these days!

  5. I love your little chats with us. I feel like I've been visiting with you over a cup of TEA for me... and coffee for you. This has brightened my day. I was a little under the weather today and haven't felt like communicating until now...and this all made me smile and give thanks for dear friends here. Thank you.
