Show and Tell

I was blessed by a very dear friend in November when she gifted me with this little treasure from her personal collection.

The San Jacinto Monument is a 567.31-foot-high column located near the city of Houston. The monument is topped with a 220-ton star that commemorates the site of the Battle of San Jacinto, the decisive battle of the Texas Revolution.

Christmas I received the most awesome little gift from a good friend.  I know she didn't realize just how special it would be to me!

This little bell is made of Olive Wood from Israel.  It is a beautiful wood with lovely grain.  What makes it so special is....

...it goes so perfectly with my little New Testament that has an Olive Wood cover!

Every two years the olive tree is pruned so it will bear fruit.  These bells are made from the prunings by Christian craftsmen living in Bethlehem.

Imagine how blessed I felt Wednesday at GLOW when the same friend that gave me the San Jacinto Monument tea cup and saucer gave me this cute little angel.

Handmade from her heart!

Here's a little angel...
To hang upon your wall,
She will help you with your baking,
And see your cakes don't fall.
And while you're busy cooking,
And  other chores you do,
You'll always have an angel
Looking out for you.

I am so appreciative of the wonderful friends that bless my life!

It's Friday and time to link up

Friendship isn't a big thing,
It's a million little things!

  2. Awww Mary, what precious sweet friends you have. The cup and saucer are beautiful, as are the bell and the little angel. I was blessed by how the bell and your little New Testament's cover are both made of Olive Wood. Thank you for the history of the Olive tree and how often it is pruned and then how the wood is used by Christians in Israel to make beautiful things.
