Tea on Tuesday

I think everyone knows by now that I am a coffee hound!!  But I know there are several of you that are tea drinkers....I like tea too....so, let's have a tea party!!

The Tea Party
- Jessica Nelson North

I had a little tea party
This afternoon at three.
'Twas very small -
Three guest in all -
Just I, myself and me.

Myself ate all the sandwiches,
While I drank up the tea;
'Twas also I who ate the pie
And passed the to me.

Tea Trivia:

Tea bags were invented in 1908 in the United States by Thomas Sullivan. He created small silk bags to give samples of tea to his customers. Some of them thought that the bags were supposed to be put directly in the tea pot, like a metal infuser, rather than emptied out. Thus, the tea bag was created by accident

This was just a few years ago, we had such a good time.

You can't get a cup of tea large enough
or a book long enough to suit me.

  2. I love tea...and so does my husband. I also love tea parties. Our granddaughters are 12 and 11 and I started a tradition three years ago with them. Every time they come to Grandma's house we have a tea party before they leave.

Thank you so much for your lovely tea party. I certainly enjoyed it. I also enjoyed seeing the picture of you, your husband and two of your daughters. Your daughters are beautiful...and I am certain they are just as sweet as their mama.

  3. I used to be the biggest coffee drinker around, but acid reflux ended that. Now I make and drink a spiced tea every morning. Good picture of your Mr. and two daughters. Have a nice Tuesday.

  5. What a sweet picture of you with your 💜's. I like iced tea....never developed a taste for it hot. I love the little poem.

  6. I think your photo is delightful. Tea is drunk by the gallon in Britain, though rarely iced.

I'm a coffee drinker in the morning but it's tea for me after that.

  10. Thank you for the tea time today! I needed a cup of tea and should have taken the time to have it...but didn't...so this pause has refreshed me just as if I was there with you. It's too late now to drink tea if I want to sleep, although I do have some herbal "sleepy time tea" that is very soothing at night...maybe I just talked myself into having some! Thank you for the reminder. And thank you for your words of encouragement to me earlier on my blog. It's so good to have such wonderful friends here...

  11. Such a cute post Miss Mary with a sweet picture too! I love hot tea. I am MORE of a coffee drinker for sure but I do enjoy a cup of hot tea especially if the setting is just right. Hugs and blessings, Cindy
