Things Do Change

After years of praying I've learned that things do change.

The number one thing that changes when I pray.....is me!  Prayer softens my heart to the will of Jesus and the connection between Him and I strengthens.

A quote from John MacArthur:
The essence of prayer is simply talking to God as you would a beloved friend ~ without pretense or flippancy.
God speaks to us through His written word, the Bible. Christians speak to God through prayer. Prayer is an important part of the Christian’s life; we pray in words and sometimes we pray in song.

Ephesians 6:18a
..praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication.

  1. Beautiful post, Mary. And sometimes we pray without knowing what to pray and "the Spirit itself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered." Romans 8:26. I've been doing some of that of late. Thank you so much for the reminder about prayer...and how it often changes us.

  2. Yes indeed, prayer does change us, the most important change we can make. How true I've found that to be. And as the Lord changes me, He changes situations around me too. That is the amazing miracle of prayer. Appreciate your dear heart for the Lord, praying your day is blessed and sweet in Him!

  3. We are to pray without ceasing always bringing our petitions to the Lord! Thanks for reminding us to seek God through prayer. I've always believed that prayer changes things even us at times. Love the quote on the photo.
    Have a blessed day, Mary.
    Hugs...Sylvia

  4. I love reading what the Bible has to say about prayer, what other believers have to say, and read many books about it. It is so critical to me and I always learn something new about it. But it's true that it is simple. Just talking with God. And He wants us to do that. I'm so thankful He hears.

  8. Prayer definitely DOES change things...and it changes you and me. God loves to hear our prayers, because that is how we communicate with each other. When I pray He listens, and also when I pray, I try to listen for HIS voice as well...this is a new exercise I am working on...LISTENING for HIS Voice, instead of doing all the talking. Thank you for this wonderful reminder to pray!
