Busy Days

Hello everyone!  Yes, I've been away longer than intended....it wasn't planned....it just happened.  Sometimes the winds of life just carry you away, like a fallen leaf, twisting and twirling looking for a place to land.

Busy days, doctor appointments, birthdays, family visits, shopping for a new car!  Yes, we took the plunge and purchased a new car.  When did Mr D get so picky?  I can't even remember how many trips we took into Pasadena for him to shop, and shop, and shop.  Now I know what he goes through when I'm in Hobby Lobby.

We've both had  some dental work done, Mr D finishes today, but not me, I still have weeks of work to be done.  ouch!  I am thankful that my issues are fixable.  I have cataracts on both eyes that have to be removed, another ouch!  First surgery is Nov. 8th and about 2 weeks later the 2nd surgery will be scheduled.  It is considered a surgery but it is a one day procedure as an outpatient.  I'm thankful for that.

We pick up the new car this afternoon, tomorrow is GLOW day, Saturday is Emma's birthday party.  Our church is starting a new women's bible study this Sunday afternoon which my daughter Peggy is teaching. 😍

Busy days still ahead.

Hope to get by and visit with each of you in spite of the busy world I find myself in these days.  I am a homebody and I don't enjoy getting out every day.  I don't enjoy going into Pasadena every day, but that's where we have to go for most of our doctor appointments and any shopping that we need to do.

Pasadena  traffic...cars on both sides of you, cars in front of you, cars behind you....woe is me!!  I like La Porte traffic, you might have 2 cars at the traffic signal, sometimes 3.  lol  Unless you hit the school traffic in the mornings and afternoons.

Guess I've been on my pity pot long enough.
Time for me to move on down the road.

Thankful Thursday:
Through all the business, God holds my hand.  For that I am very thankful.

Until Next Time,
Trying to Live Life Joyously!

  1. You have been busy Miss Mary. OOH, I do not like dental work. But praise the Lord what you have going on is fixable. Eye dr. told me last year I had a cataract forming on one eye but could wait a few years before worrying with it. Good grief....getting old ain't for sissy's. LOL! Hugs and blessings, Cindy

  5. You have been busy and sounds like it will carry over into the next weeks.
We took the plunge in August and bought a new car. Nothing wrong with the other one just lots of road miles on it. Oh well guess it was needed. Hope all goes good with the surgeries.
Will have you in my thoughts and prayers!

  8. We love our new car and already have over 3,500 miles on it (of course most of those were from our trip to Ohio). I much prefer NO traffic and am glad we have most things we need within just a couple of miles of our new house. We really don't have to travel very far for anything now. It was so good to catch up on your news, Mary!! Hugs.

  10. It's always exciting to choose and buy a new car. I like my 'previously owned' car a lot and hope I don't have to choose a different one though.

Any of the people I've talked to who have had that cataract surgery all seen very happy with the results. I'm fairly sure it will be in my future too.

  11. glad you were able to work through all the appointments and activities of the week and find enough time to visit here with us...You are always a breath of fresh air! yes, it sounds as though you will be busy for a while! I understand...and then the holidays begin...I find myself already not looking forward to them...so I pray God will change my attitude and give me joy in the celebrations...."One day at a time, Sweet Jesus, That's all I'm asking from You."
