Tuesday 4 Meme

Tuesday and time to link with Toni's

Today's Questions. . .

Your Very First

1. What was your very first job?

I was a soda-jerk between my sophomore and junior year of high school.

2. What was your very first car?

1960 or 61 Corvair

3. When was your very first ride on an airplane, boat or train?

When we were young teen-agers my cousin and I rode the train from Houston to Dallas.  We were in the same car with a female baseball team!  They certainly kept us entertained.  My first airplane ride was in a small plane, we flew around for a little while then landed, that was 1963.  I believe I was 12-13 when I went on my first boat ride.

4. Who was your very first best friend & do you still talk?

I had several close friends, their Dads worked for the same company as my Dad.  We did a lot of moving back in those days and when I married Mr D I eventually lost contact with all of them.

I've managed to get some early spring cleaning done.  It feels so good to have a clean house, first good cleaning I've done since before Thanksgiving.  How can 2 old  older people collect so much dust and get the floors so dirty?   Mr D has a coffee trail from the kitchen to his chair, when I fuss at him about it he looks at the floor and says, "Did I do that?"  Well, as a matter of fact yes you did!

And Life Goes On !!

Until Next Time

  1. I have that same trail from the kitchen to Jim's chair! lol My first train ride was my senior trip in high school to Washington, D.C. I am still in touch with one of my friends from high school, some 60 years ago. My first job was when I was 16 at an insurance company.

  5. Loved your answers :) and the story of the coffee trail.
Just to set the record straight, I am not a pilot, I hitched rides with pilots training student pilots for a cheap ride home from college ;).

  6. Love the blue and white in your header and the background is really pretty also. Good for you with starting your spring cleaning! I got the top shelf in my spice turn around cleaned yesterday and rearranged some things on a shelf in the pantry to put a few smaller applicances. Does that count? ~smile~

  8. I think it's funny that so many of our husbands are 'guilty' of leaving trails of coffee drips and/or cookie crumbs!

    1. lol Lori, a soda jerk is someone who works behind the counter of a soda/ice cream store. In my case, it was the fountain at a drug store....now-a-days they are called a pharmacy and don't have a soda/ice cream counter.

  11. Spring cleaning...hmmm, I was hoping to skip it in favor of packing and moving this spring, but not sure that is ever happening...I know it will in God's time. I did clean one cupboard the other day...my tea cupboard. I had teabags that expired in 2012 in there...so I guess it was time. I guess I don't drink as much tea as I say I do...but many of those were flavors that were given to me that I really didn't like much! LOL. I had a regular Boston tea party and through it all away!! I'm still trying to get busy and take down the Christmas tree, but it looks so pretty with the lights and I am enjoying them...so...why? I know it will happen soon enough. Happy New Year. This was fun.
