BILLS, BILLS, BILLS (1999)

Unfamiliar with this week's tune? Hear it here.

1) This song is about a cheating boyfriend. Unlike most songs, where the lover deceives by seeing another, this one squanders his girl's financial resources. She sings that he's ruined her credit. Do you know your credit score?

I sure do!

2) How often do you pay your bills? Do you handle them as they come in, or do you pay weekly, bi-weekly or monthly? Or are you lucky enough to have someone else handle your bills?

We pay them as they come in.

3) Destiny's Child had a hit with "Bills, Bills, Bills." This girl group got their start in Houston, TX. During the recent bruising storm, lead singer Beyonce sent food, money and water to her home state. Have you spent much time in the Lone Star State?

Born here and still live here.  Spent a few years in other states due to my dad's job, but Texas has always been home.

4) Beyonce is the breakout star of the group and went on to have a highly successful solo career. Can you think of another star who began his/her career as the member of a group?

Donnie and Marie Osmond.

5) "Bills, Bills, Bills" was performed a cappella by the kids on Glee. That Fox show ran for six seasons. Were you a fan?

I never watched that show.

6) In 1999, when this song was on the charts, SpongeBob SquarePants premiered. The show remains popular among the younger set. Have you ever seen it?

I've seen bits when the grands watched it.  I don't think they watched it often.

7) SpongeBob has become an industry, spawning movies, a Broadway musical, video games and both coloring and comic books. Once considered children's amusements, today coloring and comic books enjoy a following among adults. Have you recently enjoyed coloring or reading a comic book?

It's been a while since I read a comic book, I still color often.  I have several of the 'adult' coloring books that I enjoy.

8) Also in 1999, Walmart expanded to the United Kingdom. Do you shop at Walmart?

Not as much as we used to, the store is so big it's tiring.

9) Random question -- We've all met people who aren't exactly as they present themselves. Are you good at spotting a phony?

Most phonies are easy to spot.

Until Next Time

  1. Hi Mary:
I also pay the bills as they come in.
I worked for Pennzoil at their building in downtown Houston
    many years ago.
My husband retired from Walmart and we still shop there.
    Have a great day.

  2. I love this header so much! The little girl second from the right kind of reminds me of you. 🙂 Those adult coloring books are great stress-reducers. Matter of fact, this looks like one given me by one of my Bible-study pals. Right until now, I'd forgotten all about it. Oops!

  4. Hi Mary, I have that color book! I posted a few Bible journaling pages on my Thankful Thursday page. I hope you are recovered from the storms in your state. I also put a lot of family pictures from my youth on Sunday Stealing. Happy Sunday.

  6. Your coloring is very good! I am afraid mine would look like scribbling. LOL. Re: bills, I pay them as they are due, or whenever we get our SS checks, whichever comes first. We do shop at Walmart maybe once a week or every other week, just for the "big stuff" like paper goods and toiletries, cleaning supplies, etc. We buy most of our groceries locally. I don't like to shop much anymore, but I don't enjoy shopping online that much either. I like to see what I am buying. Yeah, I don't like phonies either, and can usually spot them. sometimes I get fooled, but not very often anymore... Have a blessed and wonderful day my friend. I love your Irish girls up top too. So sweet.

  7. There is no other way to get the body of herpes virus other than detoxification using natural diet or pure herbs. The health industry is a billion dollars industry - which is why the big pharmaceuticals sued Dr. Sebi the moment he discovered a 1-Week CURE FOR HERPES (Oral and Genital). Most diseases are acquired by what you eat. Even when infected by someone, it thrives because your body is receptive and filled with mucus. No disease can survive in an electric filled body. What you eat will determine how you live, how you behave, and even how it relates to you. Detoxification is the heart of ridding the body of the herpes virus. There is no other way to bring the necessary result. There are three ways to achieve this; Stop putting acidic foods into the body - if possible eat only alkaline diet, Fast daily before eating if possible for a year, Cleanse the body of toxins and acids with Nze Njoku Herbal Formula (Which also increases oxygen to cells). Feed the body with the right nutrients to repair, rebuild, and strengthen it at a cellular level and watch the body heal itself.

Some may wonder, how long is one expected to maintain such a diet and what herbs can help you achieve all these within few weeks?

Nze Njoku Herbal Home provides all the
    answers.
