Welcome to Toni Taddeo's Tuesday 4 hosted by Annie!
Let's talk about Christmas this week.
1. Martin Luther is credited with the beginning of the Christmas tree but even older tradition says it is the representation of the Tree of Life.. a fruit bearing evergreen. What does your tree look like this year. Would you post a photo or describe it for us?
Because our house is small a skinny tree fits best! It's a good thing too, Mr D and I aren't into moving furniture to accommodate a large tree.
2. What other Christmas decorations are up around your house? Which rooms get them?
There was a time when every room had Christmas decorations to enjoy. My children are grown, my grandchildren are grown and I just don't have enough motivation to do that any more.
All my decorations are in the living area which opens to the kitchen. That's enough for Mr D and myself to enjoy.
3. Do the people in your neighborhood decorate their homes for Christmas? Does your town?
Here in town, where I live, the home decorations are sporadic, one house here and one over there. Out in the subdivisions is where you'll find most all the homes have Christmas decorations, some a few and some a lot. Mr D and I love to take our hot chocolate and drive around looking at them all. The city does decorations on the three of our main streets, at the corner of two of those streets is a city park where our very big Christmas Tree stands. It's very pretty.
4. How hospitable are you during the holidays? Could you improve or are your hands full enough this time of year?
Mr D and I love the holidays. First and foremost, it's to celebrate the birth of our beloved Savior. We love having friends and family in our home during this time of year, so much fellowship and love to share with all. The past few years health issues have prevented a lot of entertaining, that makes me sad. Still we have family to be with and great grands to enjoy.
Tuesday 4 is so much fun, join in HERE !
Until Next Time
Hi Mary, I enjoyed my visit this evening. I love your tree!
ReplyDeleteLa Porte looks so festive and ready for the holidays! I think you have the right idea with a slimmer tree and I want to try that one year soon.
ReplyDeleteYour tree is beautiful and I love your decorations in your kitchen and living area. La Porte looks beautiful! And really, yes, it's all about Jesus! We can celebrate Him with or without decorations! Praying you have a blessed and healthy Christmas season with your dear ones near.
ReplyDeleteLove your Christmas decor...my favorite pic was your kitchen by your stove.
ReplyDeleteWe like our skinny tree too. And I am also finding that I decorate less than I used to. I hope you have a lovely day. Granny M
ReplyDeleteI love our tree, but in retrospect I wish we bought a 'skinny' one. Yours is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteLove your tree!
ReplyDeleteI love your skinny tree. Mine is even smaller but they are perfect for us!! I agree that we don't need to go crazy with decorations anymore. A little goes a long way!! Blessings!
