This, That and Snow!

Seems like so much has been happening since my last post!

Let me just tell ya all about it.

My oxygen machine went out, oh no.  Thankfully service is always quick and they were here with a new machine within hours.

(Supposedly "state of the art", fancy dancy new machine, look at that red light!)

Then, 24 hours later the new one went out. {{sigh}} It didn't take service long to get here with another machine.  I am thankful for their promptness, but it sure leaves me leary for a while. I get into the mindset of when is this one going to stop.  .....I know Jehovah Jireh, the Lord who will provide, I know I shouldn't fret so.

In the Kitchen:

The pendant light that hangs over the sink went kaput, just no more light even with a new bulb.  It's the light I use while at the sink, without it there is a shadow from the overhead light making it hard for me to see well.  Can't have dirty dishes going back in the cupboard. It was beyond repair so a new light was ordered and now sits in its box waiting to be installed.  Hopefully they'll get it done soon.

We woke up one very cold morning to find our heater wasn't working.  Again, we use a great repair service, one we've used for many years, and they were here within an hour.  After being in the attic for a short while they found the problem and had it fixed. (Our furnace is in the attic.)  Again, so thankful for good service, we are warm and toasty now. It's a good thing because we have 3-4 inches of snow on the ground.  Something very rare for us.

For those of you who live in areas where snow is a normal event, here it is not normal at all.  What might look like a little snow to some has this area practically shut down.  Since I don't have to get out in it, I'm thoroughly enjoying it all.  Snow is pretty, too bad it brings so many issues with it.

Tammy and Bo just returned from a cruise this past Sunday.  She posted this picture this morning.
What a difference four days make.

Maegan's Pool

I love one of our favorite places to eat is open and ready for business.  I would love to go enjoy a bowl of their soup, but I guess Mr D and I will stay in.

Main Street

Found this picture on facebook, someone's cute snowman.

Our nephew's yard.

The snow will turn to ice overnight causing major problems through midday tomorrow.  Then it will start to warm up, typical Texas temps by the end of the week.  And this lady hope to GLOW on Saturday.

Enough snow talk, let's talk about

Experiencing the Heart of Jesus,

week five.  This week's topic is,

When God Whispers Your Name.

I'll share a few of my hilites.

When we make mistakes, He does not banish us to a spiritual junkyard. No, He salvages our mistakes because He cares for us.

God ain't finished with you yet. Your Father wants you to know that.

"This is what the Lord says...'I have summoned you by name; you are mine."' (Isaiah 43:1)

He personally sees to our needs. We all receive Jesus' touch. We all experience His care.

Just a few things to ponder.

Blessings to All

Until Next Time

  1. Wow, so glad your oxygen suppliers were johnny on the spot...and hopefully it is going to stay in perfect order now. And of course your heater will malfunction when you have the only snow in how many years? Crazy! Strange that your light over the sink went out too. Little aggravations that keep us humble and grateful that our problems aren't worse like people in Southern CA or NC. Our light went out in our refrigerator this week, and I had to order a new bulb...$66.00 for a tiny light bulb!!!...but it's LED and of course something special so no ordinary appliance light bulb would do! Yikes!! That just blew my mind! Oh, I do hope you can make it to your GLOW gathering! That snow is so pretty, but not the ice and mess that brings. Hopefully a warm front will get here in time to melt it all away! Praying nothing else goes wrong in the meantime! LOL.

  3. Your snow pictures are pretty. We've got a bit more as our 9 1/2 inches or so is now down to probably around 5. Although we did get another dusting this morning. Temperatures are terrible right now though, although it's supposed to warm up this coming weekend. So glad you got your heat and oxygen machine taken care of. I like the thoughts from your Bible Study that you shared. Take care and stay warm.

  5. Oh no(!!!) on the oxygen, light and furnace hiccups! What's that they say about 'things' happening in 3's. So glad y'all have fostered good relationships with those responders.
We're experiencing much of the same weather patterns this evening. Please keep warm and safe!
